As I approach my 40th year as a SAAC member I was thinking wouldn't it be neat that for every decade that you're a member you would get a special member decal with maybe just a simple rocker, top or bottom or both, added to the standard SAAC decal that would signify 10 year member, 20 year member, etc. ...What do you folks think?
Kind of cool. Seen membership longevity pins like that.
Count me in.
Forty years.
Does it count if you took a couple year hiatus in the 90s or continuous only??? (I am a member since 82 with an* LOL)

At the phone company, if you left then came back, after five years they would bridge your service.
So if you started in '82, left in '92 and came back in 2000, in 2005 you would jump from 5 years to 15 years. That would give you 30 years in 2020.
And you thought there would be no math in the SAAC forum. ::)
So now we are going to distinguish the "Better" members from the "not so great" members? Hmmm, I too was a member in the 80's and left it when I had no cars, but re-joined it when I got a car back. I was a "eagle eye" spotter many times in the 80's, maybe each eagle eye reporting should add 2 years to my membership this making me a member for over 50 years!
Member since 1975 - Priceless
I even have a "I Wuz There" lapel pin.
Member every year since early 1976. Ron
Maybe there should be SAAC Merit badges like the Boy Scouts have and we can carry that over into qualification badges like the military has? Instead of a Purple heart we could have a purple foot where you dropped your engine on? Are you Daytonna Coupe qualified? Can you drive a manual or only an automatic? Have you driven over 200? Did you get flashed by a slut while driving your Shelby? Jee-ze! Really? :o

Nice idea, don't get your hopes up, SAAC is a ship adrift in the ocean.....

That's why I stayed at the phone company from 1972-2013 just so I wouldn't have to do the math... :D ;D

How about everyone get their own badge for how many days they were a member? Mine would be 365, but again I was a member through the 80's so I can qualify for a much higher number 365 times 10 years is 3650, plus this 365 would make it 4015, is that right my badge would say member for 4015 days? Hahaha!

She sat on the right front fender and dimpled it! Orgasms are momentary. Dimples last forever! :o

If you think SAAC is a ship adrift, why don't you offer to improve the organization that has been supporting these cars for the last 45 years instead of throwing rocks from afar?

Because saac wont allow it
Phil, you know that's not true. Look at the forum, it's changed.
A sticker saying how long you have been a member is a turn off...
Not for those of us with our walkers it isn't. ;) How about extra credit for the folks who were part of the old S.O.A. or The Cobra Club and were assimilated into SAAC? You could say we became members before the club was even started. Now how does that math work?
The logistics to continue to amass, retain, compile and distribute information takes a concerted effort that very few fathom and take those that do for granted. It's easy to play Monday morning quarterback. My hats off to those behind the scene.
Quite a bit of negativity on this subject. Par for the course from the usual players.
So much for the BS about fostering a friendly and inclusive forum ;)
I don't have any issue with the request.
Just because you have been a member for X number of years doesn't make you any better or worse than anyone else.

Those old membership records got dumped a long time ago.
I've got pictures from some of the meets but it no longer proves anything. None of those pictures look like me anymore. :'(
WOW! Sorry I even suggested it!!
