I use Heacock. Been using them, for over 25 years, now. No complaints, at all. My rates
did go up, but, that was because, I increased my coverage, by a lot.

In reference, to the picture, of the Cobra and Shelby, parked next to what, was probably
    Shelby's DC-3.

This spot, is located, to the east, of the North American hangers, that Shelby, occupied.

Directly across the 24 runways, you can see Continental Airlines terminal. You can make
out the "Meatballs" on the tails, part of Continental's livery, for their 727's.

Additionally, Directly above the Cobra, you can just make out a TWA 707 taxiing out, for
take-off. TWA's all white livery, is hard to see, but the red arrow from the nose to the tail
    is quite visible.

I worked for TWA, at LAX, during this period and I was fortunate, to see, row after row of
Cobras and Shelby's lined up, outside the SA hangers. And occasionally, at night, if the
hanger doors were open, you would get a look, at the GT40's inside.

It was those memories, from back then, that interested me, later, in acquiring, a copy of
the painting, " Shelby LAX "  by David Snyder.

If you are thinking of building a replica, there are plenty of reproduction parts to use. Don't waste original or NOS rare parts. Those should be saved for real Shelbys.  8)

Wouldn't it be amazing if we could determine the actual car you rented for the week.

If you had rented, from Hertz, a GT350, you received, a memorabilia, Hertz item.

In my case, I received, a Hertz Sports Car Club Trophy Glass. It has the Watkins Glen
       Race Track outline on it.

I wrote anarticle about my experience with a '66 Hertz GT350, in the 2012 Spring issue
of the Shelby American, page 138.

There was, at least 2 versions, (graphics, a little different) of that sticker.

I believe, Kress T-Shirt Co., was a source, of one of them.

In reply, #82 ... Those look like, some well prepared, Cheetas.

Who were the owners/drivers and Team?

The Donahue car, did receive a BIW, being rebuilt, at AER Engineering, in Madison, New Jersey.

The BIW, arrived on Dollies ( like railroad train wheels ) which remained, for many years, lying
on the ground, at the rear, of AER's building.

AER"s owner, stated, the original body shell, was cut up into pieces and thrown in the dumpster.

Notice, in the above frontal view: take a close look, on the driver's side and it appears, the edge
of the hood, in this area, is lower than the fender.

This is not unusual, as the edge, of my '67 GT350's hood, (I bought the Shelby, brand new, in May of
1967) was lower, than the fender, on the drivers side.

In contrast, my other '67 GT350's hood, had a serious, upward bow, of about a half inch, in the same
area, but on both sides. I obtained, this Shelby, from the original buyer, and he confirmed, it had been
           that way, from new.

The '67 fiberglass, had some interesting issues.
