what happened to the crashed twin Paxton Cobra ?

Around 30 + years ago, a buddy of mine from over seas, went to Pomona to look for cars.
He ran into a white 66-67 Fairlane with a 427 twin paxton engine.
Guys son was in jail, and his father was selling the car,
I figure it was the engine from the crashed car ?

What else>> it gets weirder, as he said the actual engine less crashed car ended up in Europe with a 289 in it ?
He said he thinks he may have some pictures showing the car and engine, as he knew it was something out of the ordinary.
Does anybody know anything about any of this?
My buddy is a straight shooter and I have done business with him for a number of years.
Just happened into conversation today.
