I'm on Year 18 with my Autolite group 24 from Antique Auto Battery

18 years that's awesome. When I first got my car back on the road 30 some years ago I bought an Autolite repo that did not last long. Recently using flat top batteries from auto stores with Autolite top and most do not last more than 7 years with Battery Tender float charger.

IMO I would follow Bob's advice. Get someone to TIG weld the holes not in use and grind and finish before paint.

Had a problem with the AMK regulator sold thru NPD Part Number 10316-1A. Amp meter gauge was bouncing all the time and faster as RPM increasd.

Call Danny he has all the parts and knowledge that you will ever need and then some

Unlike other places that may be to busy and don't answer their phones or return calls

Best time to contact him is after 1:00 pm

I rebuilt my S1 transmission using Dan Williams parts last year. He was stated how hard it was to get people to work. Looking at his website lately I am not sure he is still in business? Heck of a nice guy.

Not thought that way.  I thought it was thought that the h-pipe was lowered with the transmission on it. Gravity was use to remove it and the h-pipe may be lowered when reinstalling it.  Best of luck DGSOH. As always look forward to reading a your posts Bob. Very informative.

May not apply but last week I removed the 4 speed transmission on my GT500 by sliding the transmission on a jack having the tail shaft set on the H pipe and then lowering the front of the transmission down on the front to get it out.  Did this with out removing the exhaust. Not sure about this install?

Since I'm replating/restoring every original nut and bolt, where possible, on my car I could post every day. Recently, I've had great success with the Caswell Plating system.

That really looks good. I need to check that out.

I ordered new belts last year from Marti works.  One was just a little longer than the other and I had to send them back.  This is what the sent me and they work good.

shelbydoug,
Does the car turn over if it does no problem with the solenoid?  Are you getting 12 volts to the coil at start up? Should have 12 and then 6 when running. I had the same problem that kingchief talked about 15 years ago and replaced an aftermarket coil with my original ford yellow top coil no problems since.  Weird that your tach does not work. I have been running a Petronix set up for 25 years no problem. Good luck
