I'll refer back to my post number 1 which was never answered. He should load the front suspension and even add a hundred pounds and loosen all the bolts bounce it up and down a little, then tighten all the bolts and go from there. No cost, just an hour or two of time.

I'm getting confused. You start out talking about the front end being off and then you start talking about the rear end so I don't know what you are trying to fix. Please clarify. Maybe I'm just getting to old 😕

I don't know about hood clearance for the different years but I have the same 2x4 setup that shelbydoug has and I used 1in. phenolic spacers under the carbs in order to clear the export brace and monte carlo bar. 3x2 setup should be great for a daily driver that you just jump on once in awhile and give you better gas mileage and in my opinion they look good. If performance is what you're after then stick with what you have or go with a 2x4 setup if you also want the WOW factor.

That picture reminds me of 2 things. A guy that had a high performance shop a few blocks from my job built one with a 454 in the bed and gave me a ride one day. Scared the crap out of me as we quickly came up on a vehicle at a stop light and didn't hit the brakes until the last second and just barely stopped in time. Pretty scary when the only thing in front of you is a windshield and you stop about 2ft before hitting the other car. The other thing it reminds me of is this picture from an accident that happened on the freeway not to far away.

I have two good alzheimer's moments in my life. My first date with my wife was January first 1975 at Fremont Raceway, pretty easy to remember that one. We were supposed to get married on the 4th of July but found out her best friend was getting married that day so we got married on 5th of July and get this ××× Doctor Love married us 😵💫  Hard to forget that kind of stuff.

Can you post a picture of the exact dash emblem you are looking for?

Also keep in mind that valve springs are cooled by the oil flow and not enough can cause them to get hot and fail faster than they would otherwise. That is the main reason that Nascar engine builders put oil sprayers under the valve covers to help keep the springs cool.

Quote from: Coralsnake on April 30, 2024, 06:53:28 AMThanks for your input. The discussion is related to a very specific application of the part, not a general discussion.

I can also assure you there are people in this forum that are extremely aware of the resources used to identify parts and assembly procedures.

I think Kendrick's was just trying to be helpful,So no need to try and make him feel bad with your superior knowledge. I'm sure you didn't know everything as a newbie either.

Did you let the suspension fully settle before tightening the bolts for the front end?
