Awesome!
Okay, so far. Familiar but different.
But, are the post-count numbers back to stay? What's the reasoning?

They show by default... we have a few hundred tweaks to make yet to the new version.
One will be to deep-six post counts
I think that's smart.
BTW: Thank you, and the others involved, for your hard work on this project. I know the transition isn't easy, or fun, but having a better-operating forum is greatly appreciated.
Welcome back
Bill
Ron fascinating site.
Great improvements, Good job and keep up the good work.
Much appreciated!
you did it!
Awesome
I like the new look. Thx!
Is there a way to view "All Posts", or "Read Posts"? If there is, I was never able to find it on the old software.
Very nice, thanks!
Thank you Ron aka computerworks! So far so good!
Cheers

Nice work
Cheers Ron

All Posts show by default.
At the upper left of Home Page, there is a link to only show Unread Posts.
It is a great look! Thank for the time expended!

I stated my question poorly. On many other forums, if I select "Mark All Read", and then press the button to request all Unread posts, I usually get a response which says:
"You have no unread posts. You may
view all latest posts instead."
Is there a way on this forum to similarly view all latest posts?
This would be useful because at times, I quickly scan the new posts and then hit the "Mark All Read" button. Then afterwards, I realize there was a post that actually looked interesting and I would like to find that post again. I usually don't recall which sub-forum it was in. I wind up searching in various sub-forums to find it or searching the title as best I can remember it. "Viewing all latest posts" gives me the same post listing as the original "Unread" listing before I marked it read.
Nice work everyone!
I was having withdrawal issues, I can relax now ;-)
THANKS ALL!!!

On the main forum page, scroll down to the bottom. You'll see a section named Recent Posts, with the 15 most recent posts. If the one you are looking for is older than those 15, click on the words "Recent Posts", and you'll go to a new page with 100 recent posts, split across 10 pages.

Perfect! That's what I was missing. I hadn't thought of clicking on the "Recent Posts" heading.
Thx!
Is anyone else having trouble reading the pages with the new layout? I made it bigger, but still struggling. Can the font be made any bolder?
And yes, I'm getting old, I know. :'(

It would easier to read and look better too.

+1, agreed. Otherwise, looks great ... nice job Ron!

specifically... the font in which area?
Looks great!!
The font in the responses to each post especially. But, it would probably help everywhere.
Thanks for all the hard work. Appreciate the improvements!

Yes, that does seem better - Thanks!!
Yup. Looks a little bigger. Not really darker. It might be the varying shades of grey on the background. Thanks.
Look'n good!
Take a well deserved bow for an excellent result to a chalenging job. Thank you for the updated version that did not lose any past discussions. 8)
Looks great Ron, thanks for all your hard work!
I do have one question....is there an option to display the "Recent Posts" as "Recent Topics"? IIRC the previous forum version was like that, looked but couldn't find anything for this update. I find with "Recent Posts" the list gets too cluttered with new posts to the same topic.

I agree. Go back to the previous system if possible.

This system and format(multiple recent posts on same topic) makes me think I'm on the 428CJ forum.
Would it be possible to add a box to check next to the unread posts, and rather than "mark all posts as read", it could be "mark selected items as read", or just a picture of a toilet handle.
It seems that if a post isn't read within a certain period of time, it moves to another page and you have to read everything and then click "show all unread topics" to view them. But if you click mark all as read, it marks the ones not shown as read too.
I know we can set a block for a selected user, but on very rare occasions there is something interesting posted.
First, I am enjoying the new Forum structure. A lot of nice features.
I have a question; when I am logged in, under my name it says "Show IP Address, and everyone else shows "Logged". When I am logged out, it shows "Logged" under my name and everyone else. Would you explain this, and is my IP visible to others. This was not on the old version.
Thanks,
Greek

Only you see your current IP address when logged in, no other end users can. If you click on the line in question, a pop up will state the same.

Bill,
Thank you for the explanation.
