So as I thought more about your observations Mr. Turner, does the mark being more to the left when the alignment was done therefore translate to my steering wheel being unable to turn full left to its maximum lock and being able to turn too far over to the right?  That sounds a bit perilous.

Thanks for the pics.  That Porsche GTLM is pretty hot!

Quote from: CharlesTurner on May 05, 2024, 09:51:43 PMWhen the front end is properly aligned, the steering box shaft index mark should point to the 12 o'clock position.  This centers the worm gear/sector shaft the same turns lock to lock.  There is a mark on the steering wheel where the marks should line up.  I'd put the steering wheel on the proper alignment to the shaft and take it back to whoever did the alignment and have them re-do it.
Thank you for the information.  I had it aligned a while ago like maybe four years ago maybe more.  I will take it for another alignment, somewhere else.  Slow and steady wins the race.  My friend RIP always asked what about "Fast and steady?"

Quote from: deathsled on May 05, 2024, 02:53:48 PMSatin or shiny chrome?  I have the shiny chrome on at the moment which I suspect are aftermarket.  I also have a pair of satin which appear to be original.
Polished stainless is what was used on 1965 Mustang/Shelby .It is shiny but not chrome plated.  For 66 production it was a Federal requirement that all wiper blades and arms be of the satin stainless from that point on.
Thanks for the clarification.  I also bought a special puller so I am ready.

Looks like it worked out okay.  Note how I wrote "looks like." Opinions may vary.

Quote from: s2ms on May 05, 2024, 01:16:48 AMI've been running one on my 66 for a while now. Was planning on not using a front plate at all since it's not required in WA for vintage cars but decided this looked better IMO...
That looks great!  My plan is to put that on the wall of my office space and the second frame on the back of the Hertz.  Hoping they are able to fulfill the order on the frames.  They accepted payment but then again so did the other place that gave me a refund when they realized they were out.  Thank you for posting that unique setup.

I always liked the Boston Bruin logo. My father covered Hockey Night in Canada on the main camera for the Maple Leafs. When I was born in 1963 he took me down to meet all the Maple Leaf players one of them must've been Tim Horton when I look at the team photo for that year. I of course have no memory of the occurrence but pretty cool nonetheless. He was so fast on the camera in his prime to follow that puck they called him Zoomer which he hated but later embraced. Hard to see him now at 96 getting so much slower. But at least I don't need a seance yet to talk to him. That day is coming though.

I haven't followed hockey in an exceedingly long time but those look like Boston Bruin colors?

Looks like someone bought the last one. Thanks for the backstory Bob, Silverton Ford, JD and Camp Upshur. Someone bought the last one it would seem. As previously mentioned, I never saw anything like it before and is relevant to 843 so why not. We are only coming along this way once in life. Not so convinced about Heaven, Hell or Valhalla. Live it up a bit.

Quote from: deathsled on May 03, 2024, 05:56:05 PMHark, doeth one hear the ever so faint echoes in the background of voices saying "You better get rid of that damn car.  It's the car or me."  and similar such ultimatums.  Anyone gives me such an ultimatum (they didn't either from fear or some heretofore undisclosed reason) they are getting the boot.  That's a lot of Shelbys on the chopping block.  I might actually drive down to Indy and witness the sorrow.
come on down. I saw a LOT of Shelbys last year also. The SAAC Spring fling is just an hour south of there in beautiful Nashville Indiana at Brown county state park.
Yes maybe I will. My girlfriend lives in Indianapolis so I have a place to stay. I can't go for too long. Would have to find someone to watch my father here.
