If you ever wanted to visit Minneapolis, MN - here's a great opportunity. My local SAAC regional car club is hosting the MCA nationals this June and we are excited to show off our great city and share it with you Mustang and Ford folks. We have a very limited amount of registrations available for both 1) Non-Mustang Ford special interest vehicles and 2) Non-judged Mustang display vehicles. Both of these classes do NOT require MCA membership. The remaining judged classes do.

Please consider joining me for this wonderful event. The Twins are in town if you want to visit beautiful Target Field, and we are coordinating trips to Mall of America and Paisley Park.

What is your budget?  Do you want a bone stock Mustang, or modified?

The Lounge / Re: What happened to the Hipo 289 forums?!

I used to be an active contributor there.  There was an abundance of good info and banter back before the site went down years ago.  Once they finally got it back up, it really was nothing more than a place to post ebay listings for K code parts.  It was a significant loss.  I think so far the SAAC forum here has had a much better recovery effort, but it hurts when you lose all that awesome data.

The biggest problem for me is the 16" steering wheel and drop dash in respect to leg/knee room.  I can work around a tight foot box, but if there is no place for my knee to go, what's a guy to do?  I'm 6'2" and was able to make myself drive an original CSX 2000 car by first removing my shoes and abducting my hips as much as possible.  I made it work. I wouldn't be able to do it for more than an hour.

I have experienced more room in my 427 ERA replica cars.  A part of that is the dash and a few mods ERA has figured out along the way to get the most room possible while maintaining the original wheelbase.  I have the most room in my ERA FIA car with the comp dash (no drop dash) configuration.  Best of both worlds.

Wonderful!

That is an interesting picture.  The rocker stripe lettering does make me pay attention.

Thank you.  I also noticed this company - They seem to do good work.  I'm hoping for suggestions from this group who have actually had similar work done or know somebody who understands these types of wheels (Cobra knockoff PIN drive)

I've been told that lateral runout repairs cannot be done on a wheel, but I'm wondering if there are some experts out there who can help me.  I have 20 year old PS engineering PIN drive wheels and one of them has lateral runout issues on the inside of the wheel, which can't be seen or measured with the tire mounted.  The wheels look cosmetically fine, but there is some vibration at highway speeds on some roads caused by this.  I've tried road force balancing 2 different new tires with no luck in removing the vibration completely.  I would like to have my wheel rebuilt or repaired if possible by a skilled tech familiar with these repairs.  Like I said, my local wheel repair guys here don't know how to repair lateral runout.

Any help would be appreciated.  I will dismount tire and ship if necessary to the right shop/tech.

I'll start with my pet peeve and the rest are in random order

"Perfect"
"Working when last used"
"All Original"
"Excellent condition for it's age"
"Mint"
"Best"
"Remaining tread looks good" (when describing a 20 year old tire)
"You wont find a nicer...."
"As far as I know"
"My loss is your gain"
"Sacrificed"
"Will only appreciate"
Anything comparing to Barrett Jackson

I'm sure there are more, but this is my quick list and this should be a fun thread.

Wanted to Buy / WTB - FIA 6 PIN Cobra wheel(s) for ERA
November 04, 2018, 07:06:28 PM
Looking for a single front 6 PIN FIA Cobra wheel.  I'll purchase a set of 2 if needed to make a deal.  I am aware I can get these new from Trigo and Vintage Wheel.  However, I'm trying to find a pre-loved one if possible.

Ideally, I would like to purchase a PS Engineering wheel: 15x7.5 with 3.9" Backspacing.  I'll also consider a set of Trigos if the price is favorable.

Thanks!

I splurged on myself in 1999 out of grad school and bought a $400 (Gulp!) Swiss Air Force watch.  I still wear it daily.  I have had to replace the lithium battery in it after 15 years of use, and to date the case has only been opened up once for that single battery change.  Still looks great and the sapphire crystal doesn't yet have a single scratch!

Find an image on the internet or upload an image on the internet using a hosting service.  Do the same with the image you uploaded into your gallery if you can't host the photo or find it elsewhere on the internet.
Right click the photo in question and copy the URL
Paste the URL in between the img tags after clicking the photo icon.  Done!

The BAT car did not sell for that, so not a smoking deal.  Reserve not met (:
