What's the diameter of the center opening of the wheels?

2.75". Just a bit larger than correct K2/8 wheels. Otherwise identical.

What is the correct application of the "1969" steel wheels?

I have no idea. Other than date codes and center hole size, they are identical to 68 wheels. Still very hard to find but much less expensive.

One guess would be they are larger to fit the larger spindle/bearing size on a 70'..?? ???
