The SCAT club is there. Charles Eller is the guy you want. He's in Arlington on Main Street.

The place here in Tulsa is easy. You tell them what you want the end product to be and toss them the keys. By the end of the day or maybe the next day you pick the car up. It is that easy.

When we used to stuff the ports with aluminum foil the foil would get coated in a sooty carbon like goo. It eventually plugged the port pretty well. The foil never went away, it just became gooey.

We used to stuff the intake crossovers with crumpled up aluminum foil when I was young and poor. It worked pretty well.

Had the same issue recently. It turns out (in my case) one of the springs in the latch assembly had rusted away causing the latch to fail. I had to remove the door panel (wrecked it) and then was able to open the door. I was able to make another spring using a spring from Ace Hardware. Put the latch back in and it works fine.

Probably ethanol fuel related. Pull the primary float bowl and take pictures. Likely it is full of corrosion.

The car is off when you check the PS fluid level.

I don't know about the reproduction diameter as I have only used originals. Typically things in 1967 model year are Autolite. 1966 model year typically Fomoco. If you have a very early 1967 you might get away with Fomoco but it would depend on your ability to convince a judge.

I think the Ford guys may have already answered the question. They bought an off the shelf part that was different from what the engineers had designed. They use the same part number - because it doesn't matter. Flow and pressure are likely unaffected by the different hole size.

Quote from: Kent on May 02, 2024, 01:31:58 PMExtra cooling means the A/C equipped cars right? Thank you.

Extra cooling was a stand alone option in 1968. It means a clamp in 24" wide radiator. If you ordered AC you automatically got extra cooling too.

Flow and pressure are inversely proportional so that would be the case.

I shipped a bare 390 block a couple years ago. With a pallet, plumber's tape to secure it to the pallet, and wrapped in plastic the scale barely hit 200 pounds. A 428 should be a bit lighter with a bigger bore.

What Bob said - if the technician used clear fluid it is a dead giveaway, and the pump failing is the usual result. Once in a while you will get lucky and be able to change the fluid for the proper type and have everything start working right. I have never been that lucky.

Making the hole smaller would increase the oil pressure.
