It's the scene right after the end of the chase. Bullitt is getting a ride back to the police garage in the back seat of an unmarked Ford 4-door. The next scene is McQueen asking for another car and is told they're are no more cars... as the chief rides out in a car.
Never knew there was a Shelby in that movie. Someone has sharp eyes!

A 1967? no. 18?
Yes the white '67 GT350 was noted as the second car sold.
#18 is too late as it didn't ship out of SA until March '67. This would likely be a car that shipped between 10/31 -11/9.
Those white cars include #
17,
19,
20,
22,
23, 27, 28,
29,
30,
31, 32,
36, 37,
39, 40, 50, 70.
I put a strike line through the cars that either have been shown recently with blue lemans stripes or are believed to be owned by someone else.

The main character is a driver for the Ford France race team. In the film, you'll see a four-speed Hi-Po Mustang convertible. Plus there's scenes filmed at the actual 1966 Monte Carlo Rally, with him piloting a prepared white 1966 Mustang coupe.
But wait, there's more. There's a scene where he's testing a Ford France GT40 at a banked track and there's some of the finest automotive imagery ever filmed. This includes car-to-car, long shots and interior shots. Plus there's scenes of both the GT40 and Mustang running side by side.
PS. The love story is also very touching.
QuoteMaybe not on film, but connected, don't know if it was her car ? Barbara Eden :-* with '69 Mach 1.
Yes it was hers. It was featured in fabulous Mustang magazine in the 90's - I probably have the issues somewhere - they saw her son driving it in CA, talked to him and found out she was the original owner.

Take a look at this great opening sequence featuring a '66 Hertz car from the 2005 version of War Of The worlds in this link to the theatrical trailer:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msxe3yJPfyY
The car is 6S1886 - owned by Gino Lucci, who at the time headed a New York City company called Picture Cars, which supplied vehicle services to the film and TV industry. Gino sometimes put 1886 into cameo roles in the films he worked on. It was Russell Crowe's ride in American Gangster. I worked with Gino on that project to supply the stunt double that was blown up.
I believe Gino also did the work on the sequence from I Am Legend where Will Smith drives the red GT500 through a showroom window.
Stills of these scenes are posted elsewhere in this thread.

On September 9, 1964, Nicole Cruchot cruised around in a Poppy Red 1964.5 Mustang convertible in the French comedy Le Gendarme de Saint-Tropez. Known to American audiences as The Troops of St. Tropez, Cruchot's character, GeneviĆØve Grad, holds the distinct honor of being the first person to drive a Ford Mustang on the silver screen.
Then two weeks later, the 64 1/2 mustang reappeared in another movie Goldfinger .

No don't believe so. Since most were filmed outside of the US and often was influenced by sponsors IMHO would not make sense to include a Shelby as any of the main cars

No 007 films did not use any Shelby GT350.
But these movies did use real vintage Shelbys;
1968 Shelby GT500, Thomas Crown Affair
In this remake of the Steve McQueen classic, billionaire Thomas Crown, played by Pierce Brosnan, drives a one-off, off-road prepped 1968 Shelby Mustang GT500 convertible complete with roll bar, raised suspension, and knobby tires. It isn't in the movie long, but it's unforgettable. Today a faithful replica owned by reality TV star Richard Rawlings is often seen on his hit show Fast n' Loud.
1966 Shelby GT350H, Grand Prix
Filmed throughout Europe with real F1 cars on real race tracks, including Monaco and the high banks of Monza, Grand Prix remains the prototypical racing movie. American F1 driver Pete Aron, played by car enthusiast and real-life racer James Garner, drives a black and gold 1966 Shelby GT350H Mustang hard when not on the track. A similar carāa cloneāappears in the Tom Cruise remake of The War of the Words from 2005.

In fact it was Carroll Shelby prepared Mercury Cougar XR-7 with 428 Cobra Jet engine (335 HP conservatively rated, more like 360-370 HP) with Ram-Air. Carroll Shelby built 3 Cougars not for the public, they were actually built to appear in the 007 movie. One was an extremely rare Shelby prepped Cougar and used by him personally for awhile! I'm not sure about any Shelby connections to the three R code XR-7 Cougar convertibles used in the Bond film. By '68/'69 I'm not sure the who/what/where of any modifications or why they would have been needed in the first place.
Two 428 Cobra Jet Ram Air XR-7 convertibles were ordered for the film on the 19th of September 1968. It is speculated that when one of the Cougars was badly damaged in the race scene the third CJ Cougar was ordered.
CCOA knows the VINs for all three Cougars. The damaged Cougar was thought to be scrapped, but evidence may have been found that it was for sale in the UK in 1971. One of the Cougars was purchased by the Ian Fleming Foundation and is in their collection. And the third one was undergoing a restoration in England last I heard.

Stang in Goldfinger
I think the above image was a fairly recent (celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the film, IIRC) European car magazine retrospect about the shooting locations of the classic scene.
The original Mustang didn't have rally lights in the grille, nor parking lights that illuminate with the headlights.

1997 Mustang GT in Night Rider....yikes !
Eleven years after David Hasselhoff's Knight Rider Pontiac Firebird went from prime time to reruns, the concept was revised in 1997 with Team Knight Rider. The crew of do-gooders all drove modified Fords including an Expedition, an F150, and a red Mustang GT convertible named Domino. Complete with roll bar, side exhaust, and tonneau cover over its back seats, its KITT-like equipment included rocket launchers and an ejector seat. The series lasted two years.

If you mean Phil Spector, then no. His was 2287, not 2299.
Gotcha, thanks for the clarification
Just looked that up
After Bonneville, CSX2287 was refurbished and sold to slot car magnate Jim Russell who used it to promote his model of the car by driving it to slot car shops around the country. He drove it on the street for two years, keeping it in pristine condition to promote his models. He then sold the car to music producer Phil Spector to finance his two daughters' college education..
Spector was known to drive it on the streets of Los Angeles. Built for high-speed endurance racing, the cab became uncomfortably warm as the car's engine heated up. "It wasn't a street car; it was a race car", Shelby said. Still, Spector drove it on the streets, and legend is that Spector racked up so many speeding tickets his lawyer advised him to get rid of the car before he lost his license. This car was featured in "The Monkees" episode, "The Monkees Race Again" (aka "Leave the Driving to Us"), originally aired on February 12, 1968.

The Swamp Rat
"The Beverly Hillbillies" pickup, affectionately known as "The Swamp Rat," was a 1921 Oldsmobile Model 43-A roadster with a 43-horsepower, four-cylinder engine. If you bought this then-midlevel sedan directly from the factory, it cost $1,445.
Custom car designer extraordinaire George Barris was tasked with building a vehicle suitable for the Clampetts. He found the '21 Olds behind a Fontana, Calif., feed store. It was already weathered and lacked a back end, but Barris was fine with that.

Probably one of the most-recognized vehicle in the series is the Mayberry patrol car. Andy and Barney drove this 1961 Ford Fairlane Town Sedan with a whip antenna
This car was sold to "Mr. Independant Wheels!" (aka Barney Fife) by auto swindler "Hubcaps" Lesch (Ellen Corby, who later played Grandma Walton). Immediately after the sale, according to Wally and Gomer, this 1954 Ford Customline sedan needed, "Plugs, points, bearings, valves, rings, starter switch, ignition wires, water pump, fuel pump, oil pump, clutch, clutch bearings, clutch plate, brake lining, brake shoes, brake drums, radiator hose, and a radiator hose cover." And it could use a good wash as well.
This episode, "Man In A Hurry," frequently gets voted "Most Favorite Episode" by fans of the show. Malcolm Tucker's 1963 Lincoln Continental gets a clogged fuel line on a Sunday, and learns to relax in Mayberry... whether he likes it or not.
There's nothing like the lovable town drunk buying his own car. As Barney said, "Well it's bad enough having a plain old town drunk, but now we got a mechanized one!" In "Hot Rod Otis," Otis Campbell bought this 1933 Ford V-8, drove it while sober a few times, then sold it to Charlie Varney. Whew!
Whenever Briscoe Darling brought his clan to town, they arrived in this 1929 Ford Model AA. Music was bound to ensue, as Briscoe (Played by Denver Pyle... you may remember him also from "The Dukes of Hazzard") always said, "Got time to breathe, got time for music!" We might also note that the Darlings' truck was the only vehicle to be featured in both the original series and 1985's "Return To Mayberry."
A white 1961 Ford Falcon
Barney Fife left the show after the first five seasons (All in black & white), but Don Knotts returned as a guest star for five episodes in color. The first one was titled "The Return Of Barney Fife," in which he drove into Mayberry in his 1958 Edsel Pacer. Barney incorrectly called it a 1960 model with a '61 grille, so maybe he was swindled again, this time by a used car dealer in Raleigh. The episode also won Don his 4th of five Emmys from "The Andy Griffith Show."
After a few years on the show, Aunt Bee decided she needed her own transportation. So she bought a 1955 Ford Fairlane Sunliner convertible from Goober, and promptly backed it into a tree. Of course in real life, Ms. Bavier drove a 1966 Studebaker Daytona before some kitty cats made it their home.
A Lincoln... then a limousine. How about a 1967 Lincoln Continental Executive Limousine by Lehmann-Peterson? Andy drives Aunt Bee's car to pick up Opie at a friend's house... and what a collection of other Lincolns are there as well.
Although not a Ford but a Fellali, I could not resist posting this picture of the voluptuous Aunt Bee....enjoy fellas!
Sports cars made a few appearances on the show. Here at an auto show, Aunt Bee checks out a 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB/4. It's too bad the Taylors didn't buy that car, because it's worth tons now!

DRAQLA
Hot Rod reopens case of wrecked, unnumbered A/MP GT350 that was restored in the '70s by Bela Lugosi Jr., and then it vanished.
Once upon a time, a Hungarian actor named Bela Lugosi left Europe for the United States aboard a merchant ship to further his career. He landed a role as Count Dracula in the Broadway adaptation of Dracula, which he played again in the now-classic 1931 film adaptation. After that, he remained in horror until his passing in 1956.
Before he left this world behind, though, Lugosi fathered a son in 1938, Bela George Lugosi, Jr. Lugosi Jr. went on to become a lawyer. He also, according to Hot Rod, once owned a special Shelby GT 350.
The GT 350 was once featured in Hot Rod's November 1977 issue, having undergone quite the transformation from what it once was. Per the article, the pony was "an unnumbered factory A/MP Shelby GT 350 with less than three miles showing on the odometer" which found itself smashed up. Holman-Moody, who was Ford's official racing contractor at the time, took and flipped the beaten dead horse to another company before one lawyer brought it back to life.
In 1974, that lawyer sold the GT 350 to Lugosi Jr., who then logged some 12,000 miles with the car when the Hot Rod article was published. He took it to "all of the Shelby-style events," showing off the car's own style, complete with wide fender flares, center-mounted chrome exhaust, and a pair of chrome fuel doors straddling the louvered rear window.
Some time after the article was published, the GT 350 disappeared from view. Perhaps it was sold to another owner, who either held on to it or, as is usually the case, sold it to someone else. Hot Rod is even asking where this special car is today.
We don't think it's buried in a coffin or, worse, somewhere in a scrapyard. However, we do hope that, wherever the GT 350 is, it's terrorizing all of the drag strips, seeking its teeth into the competition every chance it gets when it sees the green light in the dark of night.
Another article on DRAQLA
Hot Rod delves into its archives to revisit the of curious case of Bela Lugosi Jr.'s Shelby, which hasn't been seen for decades.
When the 1931 film version of "Dracula" came out, Carroll Shelby was only eight years old. Even when the man who made the vampire count a Hollywood legend, Bela Lugosi, died in 1956, Shelby Mustangs were still years away. He didn't live long enough to experience their sound and power.
However, his son Bela Lugosi Jr. was a grown man when Shelby first started producing his hotter versions of Ford's hit pony car. Hot Rod recently dug into its archives and came across one of its stories in its November 1977 issue. It goes like this:
"Twelve years before the article came out, an unnumbered factory GT 350 with less than three miles on its odometer somehow came into contact with a silver spike and suffered a substantial amount of damage. Holman & Moody, Ford's official racing contractor, bought it and subsequently sold it to a company called FT Enterprises. It held onto the hobbled horse until an L.A. lawyer decided to restore it. They sold it in 1974 to none other than Bela Lugosi Jr., who would go on to take the GT 350 to numerous Shelby-related events."
Given the timeline, this Shelby should've been made in roughly 1965. With its grille-mounted lights, sail panel scoops, and horizontal bar tail lights, it looks more like a '67 model, though. Other touches that make it stand out are its rear window louvres, exaggerated rear fender flares, and mono-pipe exhaust finisher. And let's not forget the vanity license plates that read "DRAQLA."
A couple of quick online searches revealed nothing about this car's current status. Perhaps Lugosi Jr. sold it to someone else who has it locked in a garage and building value somewhere. Maybe it got wrecked or stolen and parted out. We hope not. Dracula spawned several sequels and related movies. We're crossing our fingers that the world will get to see more of this obscure Shelby one day.

No but after watching his last movie "Cry Macho" it's time to retire. You can see him moving real slow and struggling.
He gets into a few scuffles that for a person that age or younger would have left you "inoperable permanently " but he gets up and continues.
I love the guy and I love his movies , but sometimes it's best to call it quits and let everyone remember your glory
I love Clint also, he's the man.
But, he had so much skin pulled back in this recent facelift that the rest of his face must be looking out from the back of his head.
Even his trademark squint has vanished.

Different deals. Plymouth supplied cars and got the "free" ink. Dodge apparently didn't want to pay the product placement extorsion for the episode. Ford probably wasn't asked since Shelby was a dead product by then.

Why do the women drivers use a fire suit face mask? Are they only allowed to drive cars with recall notices of fire hazards?

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that men cause an average of 6.1 million accidents per year in the US, and women cause 4.4 million accidents per year. Males do 62% of the driving, but only cause 58% of the accidents. So women do cause slightly more accidents per capita than men.

Rockstars' Garage: Frank Sinatra's Zebra Mustang by Barris
Rockstars' Garage: Frank Sinatra's Zebra Mustang by Barris
Customized cars from various eras provoke an odd range of reactions, everything from wistful nostalgia to biting sarcasm. Then there's something in between, an amused reflection about times gone by, and how a car characterizes the attitude of an era. For instance, consider the Barris Zebra Mustang, which appeared in the farcical Frank Sinatra romantic comedy, Marriage on the Rocks.
The odd plot, along with Sinatra's period lingo (indicated in quotes), are right in tune with the quizzical styling of the car. While Sinatra the singer was the "living end," the movie was "Endsville," revolving around a love triangle and a married couple, Dan and Valerie Edwards (Frank Sinatra and Deborah Kerr, better known for playing opposite Yul Brynner in The King and I). Seeking to put the "wow-ee wow wow" back in their relationship, they take a second honeymoon in Mexico, where a shyster lawyer (Cesar Romero, who played The Joker in the Batman TV series) gets them divorced without their full knowledge.
While attempting to renew their vows, Dan's roguish friend Ernie Brewer (Dean Martin), accidentally marries her instead, since he doesn't speak Spanish and can't figure out the meaning of the ceremony. Martin's devil-may-care character is about the only bright spot in the film, besides the Barris Mustang. Some might feel that's not saying much, but we found this wacky car (now stored in the vault of the Petersen Automotive Museum, after being acquired from a private collection in Anaheim, California), to be curiously compelling, largely for its extensive bodywork and quirky aesthetics. (Wish we could say the same thing about the movie, but we won't spoil the ending.)
According to the book, Barris Kustoms of the 1960ies (by George Barris and David Fetherston, now out of print), Barris and his project engineer Richard Korkes built the car by extending the nose of a '65 Mustang a full 10 inches. The scalloped and rolled metalwork was hand-formed and gas-welded in 20-gauge sheet steel into a gaping oval, then fitted with an all-aluminum, seven-rib, V-shaped grille and a double set of deeply recessed Cibie headlights. (This dual treatment was actually ahead of its time, as it would be used on later production designs.) The horizontal split between the upper and lower headlights continues around the sides of the front fenders, forming a flared body contour, just below the beltline, that extends past the front wheelwell and angles sharply downward to the rocker panel.
The rear end was completely restyled as well, with a Targa-style roof and removable Landau top (also used on a '66 Thunderbird that appeared in the movie). The fastback roofline slopes down into a pair of mini-fins protruding from the sides of the tail panel. Body creases starting in front of the lower section of the rear wheels flow into the rear quarters, dividing the upper and lower halves of the pointed fenders. Barris and Korkes fabricated a full-width tail panel, plus a new rolled rear pan, and frenched license plate holder.
Although requiring a fair degree of technical skill, the styling was not to everybody's taste (even back then), especially the car's signature finish: fake Zebra fur. Groovy baby! This cloth treatment covered not only the cockpit, but also the roof, rear deck and coved side panels, all trimmed with chrome molding. (Clearly this was only a fair-weather ride.)
The body had a two-tone color scheme, pearl white with a satin-black rear decklid underneath the Zebra skin. It featured also some Pearl red fadeaways around the body moldings.
To use Sinatra's terms, a "player" who likes to "swing" would fit right in with the gamey cockpit, with its liquor-bottle sized cupholders (unusual for the time) and calliope plastic-tube speaker covers. Just the thing when you're headed to a "clam bake" (party) to enjoy a few shots of "gasoline" (Jack Daniels, Frank's favorite drink). A small-screen black-and-white TV graces the dash, also unusual for its day, long before LCD monitors came into vogue. This must have been a groovy ride for going out on the town with a ring-a-ding "barn burner" (a very stylish, classy woman).
For going "scramsville" a 289 Ford V8 purrs under that elongated hood (though the radiator was prone to overheating during our photo shoot). In the movie, Nancy Sinatra twirled the Rally-style, smallish steering wheel in several scenes. We can just imagine the Sinatra-style reaction to her arrival: "You're platinum, pussycat!"
Of course this customized Mustang was a really strange cat, but it hails from the time of hepcats, when movie cars (and stars) were outlandish, even outrageous. After all, it's from the hands of George Barris, known for such wild and wacky creations as The Batmobile, Munster Koach, and the Flintstone-mobile.
Not all of them were remarkable or memorable, however. That's understandable given the sheer volume of cars done by Barris. "It would take me a couple days to count how many cars I've done for TV and movies," he says. "I quit counting after 1,000." That's probably not much of an exaggeration, judging from his numerous Autorama and museum displays, and the stacks of Barris-inspired model cars overflowing his office shelves (where we sat down with him for a fascinating interview).
Though widely known for his movie and TV cars, Barris actually got his start by customizing cars in Sacramento, California, back in the '40s. His first mildly modified car was a 1925 Buick. "We had no tools, we were like cavemen back then," he recalls. "I put air hammers (for repairing dents) on a stand so I could shape metal with them, and made custom dies so I didn't have to depend on hand labor."
Barris went on to craft some of the most legendary and beautiful cars with innovative craftsmanship, chopping tops and sectioning frames to produce flowing, uninterrupted lines. Some of his more noteworthy, high-fashion Kustoms (as he spells the word) have been displayed at the renowned Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, along with a full-scale diorama of customizing workshop outfitted with special tools donated by Barris.
"I put the 'K' in Kustom," he says with a note of pride. "As long as I changed cars, I used a 'K'. They're not the same as other customs."

The only vehicles like it at the time would've been a Jeep or International. (Possibly a Bronco, depending on date of the photo.) But I don't recall a four-door model of any of these.

I drove Project X a couple of times when I was on staff at PHR in the '80s. Great in a straight line. But ,that was the only thing it was great at. I think it had 4.56s with a spool, plus 90/10 shocks and crappy steering/brakes. It did have a cool 1960s Tony Nancy custom interior.

Van,
A couple of childhood friends were in "Hollywood Knights". The band drummer was Wesley, and his sister was the blonde singer. We were in 9th grade Jr. High at the time. Wes HATED cutting his hair for the film!
Scott, that's cool. Were you there when the engine blew up?
Did you ever meet Mike Johnson? He was PHR's (and later Hot Rod's) project car manager. Not on all projects, but on some. He was about 6'4", 325 pounds, and most of that was not fat. His nickname was "Whale Body."
Though he was usually quiet-speaking, he was intense...and had a way of using his size to get his point across. One time, he was overseeing the cars on a PHR photo shoot on some ocean pier...a typical sunset photo of wild project cars. Just as the photog had everything set up, two a-hole guys walked-up near the car and planted their beach chairs inches away from the front and rear bumpers.
Apparently, that pier was a favorite location for sunset photos for advertising or whatever. And they wanted $100 each to move their chairs. After the photog and his assistant said they had a permit to be there, and to politely move (the a-holes weren't budging), Whale Body went over and (though none of our guys heard what he said) the a-holes quickly grabbed their chairs and actually RAN off.
The rest of the photo session, although there were still some gawking spectators, there were zero problems.
I mention all that because Whale Body was in charge of watching over Project X during the Hollywood Knights shoot. It was he to whom they insisted that Danza be allowed to drive in that scene. I wasn't there, and don't know exactly what happened after the engine grenaded, but apparently Whale Body and the Director, First A.D., Producer and Danza "had a little talk." Whatever was quickly offered-up by the producers kept Whale Body from losing his sh!t. But, he was the lone guy from PHR there, so none of us know the real story.
That's why I'm curious if you saw him that night, or ever met him later on in your career. He wasn't easy to miss.
