I dont ever recall hearing about what happened to this car.

this was only discovered this year
To me that is THE most amazing find ever. It's difficult to imagine something better? What is the CSX number on that car? It probably is a 3200 number with the 428?

After analyzing the registry I think it could be 3278. What do you think?

We need Ned's input.
I don't get the point of the barn find? It isn't like the owner will pay you to paint the house by giving you the car?
These cars are probably involved in an Estate sale and the manager is trying to top them out. An original 427 street car like this is worth around a million and you probably will need to pay more for the mice and cobwebs?
Even if you got them for nothing if you tried to register them for the street the state in charge has a list of valuations of them and you will pay the sales tax according to that.
It still comes down to being a billionaire to afford even a barn find but I suppose dreams die very hard?
Ned is still waiting for the page to load.
If these go to auction. They will both be well into 7 figures.
We will be hearing a lot about these cars in the foreseeable future.
I believe the CSX of this car is being kept private for the time being. 8)
Or it could already have been mentioned, as the owner is in the registry and a few people know who he is. :P
The Barn Find Hunter Cobra and Ferrari will be auctioned off at Amelia Island in March.

Surprise! ::)
Shocker, eh?
What a coincidence?
No real surprise. The estate planned to sell the cars.
Here is the auction listing. https://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/1967-shelby-427-cobra-3/ (https://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/1967-shelby-427-cobra-3/)
Looks to be a pretty much un-molested example.
Any estimates? Maybe we should start a pool!
Any impact on the price for the 428 vs [advertised and car name] 427?
I did not see that noted in my quick look at the auction listing... do they "assume" that everyone should already know?
The mice and their condos have been removed from the glove box and trunk although I am sure some essence of them remains. The cars were parked in 1991, providing the critters plenty of time to reside in unparalleled luxury. 26 years of mouse poop and pee did a number on the original owner's manual, which resided in the glove box. Fortunately, the spare tire was relatively impervious to the coating of rodent droppings.
I had the "honor" of removing the nests from the car and did not contract hanta virus, at least not yet! The car is in amazing condition under the coating of dust and is now running.
It's going to be entertaining and educational to see this car auction. It seems recently that the 428 cars have struggled to pull big numbers but the story here may yield a different result. I've never been to Amelia Island but I might have to make the trip this year. The Ferrari should break the bank.
There's an estimate on the auction link https://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/1967-shelby-427-cobra-3/ which is $1,000,000 to $1,300,000. It goes to auction 9 March Lot 016.

That would be my guess also. The 428 might even help it since no one's going racing with that car.
How about the stable mate... 275 GTB
What size tires were the big block cars, street and SC delivered with?
Does one really need to work so hard to preserve the dust? This can be found on most any neglected articles allowed to remain stationary, most any where, not so unique to just automotive "BARN-FINDS". And if we're going to save the dust, what of perhaps the other contents and particulate along with its' associated not so appreciated odor? And then I wonder if U.S. Fish & Wildlife or some other wildlife management office was called to inspect the "inhabitants" ensuring for proper treatment and the legalities of exploitation along with the movement or transport or permitting, particularly over state lines? :o
Com'on ease up on the barn-dust-B.S.! Please! :-[

Street 427 cars had 8.15 x 15 Goodyear Blue Dot tires...The S/C cars had 11.40 x 15 Speedway Specials at the rear.
