1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Mag Stars or 10 Spokes

How do you know, what wheel your car came with, on a 67? Optional wheel? But then which optional wheel? It seems that the registry is just what an owner says?

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Brakes
September 15, 2019, 04:53:06 PM
I have a nice restored 67 GT350 that I bought out of Texas. Question I have is  about the brakes. The front brakes are so tight. I do not drive the car often, so do I just need to drive it and break them in? The front brakes are hot, the reads are cool after a 10 mile drive. In fact when I start it up in the garage, it is actually hard to move. Can the proportioning valve be that bad that it makes the front brakes tight? WHAT IS THE GIG? I know that 67 brakes are "touchy" but a Shelby I had years ago would lock up the rears easily, but this car locks up the fronts! DANGEROUS!

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Correct gear ratio
September 14, 2019, 05:22:15 PM
I have a 67 GT 350 with 3:89 gears. Correct for a 4 speed, but my car is a auto with air. Seems crazy on the highway, but I love the around town driving. What would be a nice gear ratio for overall driving? What did the car come with if equipped with auto and air?

I have a nice Shelby wood steering wheel for sale, I guess, I was using it for display and maybe I don't really have a need for it anymore, I wasn't thinking about selling it until I read a post about steering wheels and it got my wheels turning. Anyway I am having some work done on my GT350 so...hey....this is a hobby, right? So why not sell it to help pay for stuff I am having done!

Let's start with $3500.00 and go from there, offers? PayPal friends and family payment, please. PM me. I can also text you 2 more pics of the lower spoke front and back.

It is a 66 Shelby wheel, I was corrected, thank you!

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / hood latch
May 22, 2019, 07:23:59 PM
DO 67's have a special hood latch? I installed a hood latch on my hood, went to shut the hood and it was off a huge amount, wasn't even close. I would think the location of the latch near the inboard lights is the same place as a Mustang latch. Where the lever bolts in on the hood I also would think it would be the same as the Mustang. Could my hood have been damaged years ago and the position is not correct? I will get some pictures in a few days. Right now the only way to keep my hood down is the use of the hood pins....scary.

When I bought my beautiful 67 GT350, I was told that over the years, it was in a minor front end bump, so light as the nose and hood only needed a little repair. Now I do not know what exactly happened, but lets assume that there was a bump into the back of another car and it was hard enough that the person driving the car, slightly bumped into the steering wheel, the car got fixed and many years from that point is now.....

From what I have been told, the steering wheel may have broke the weld points at the spokes to the rim, from a chest hitting the wheel, but it was just a jolt that did not show any other damage.

One day, I got into my car to move it and I was not thinking and used the wheel to help assist me getting into the drivers seat, and that was enough to have this result.

The experts say that the wheel could have been broken for many years and never was pushed to the point of breaking until now. My question is, how many steering wheels are out there just like mine, that appeared to be mint, in the car, and showed not signs of breakage?

What if I was driving the car and that wheel snapped, night have been a problem? Don't you think?

It was funny at the time, but might not have been that funny! I hope to get it fixed and restored soon. The way I see it, is I was lucky!

after all, it is the rule. It seems that people are listing cars and parts on places like ebay, etc and not putting the price here like they should. Instead there is a link to where the opening bid or price is? Whats up with that?

The Lounge / Over the counter wood steering wheel
April 09, 2019, 08:23:07 AM
Can anyone post a exploded view of the horn button and all its parts? I have a metal disc, 2 springs, (light and heavy), the plastic with the emblem and thats it. I will get better pictures of the center.

have a GT350 with air, can I ad a Paxton supercharger to it? I would have to be installed on the passenger side. Is there a way to do this?

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Dash tag metal
March 25, 2019, 11:21:04 AM
Was there a dash tag that SA put on the dash of a 67 Shelby when new? Or maybe the dealer put it on. I have something that says basically, " Shelby American INC, especially made for...." It is a metal tag.

The Lounge / Knoxville, TN
March 12, 2019, 09:39:42 AM
We are thinking of moving from Upstate NY to Knoxville, any forum member with advise? (NY is just not as good as it was anymore).
What is it like to live there?
Is it safe?
Is it car friendly?
Are there car events, people that are into cars?
Are there good Diners?
If I have a home, is it easy, Code and Town issues, to build a nice car garage for the hobby?
Are there older garages on the market for sale? (I cannot seem to find property like that).
Anything else you can offer about Knoxville?

Anyone have a good picture to post of where all the vacuum lines go? 70 Boss 302 with shaker, ps, pb. Would like to see where the lines off the distributor mostly, but would like to double check everything.
