The first 130 Shelbys have the headlight buckets mounted using bands around the circumference of the bucket. Each band is held on by two bolts each. The question: what marking is on the bolt heads?
Blank? three slashes? "Rockford"? or "Dorman"?
These buckets during the early assembly were installed at Shelby American, not at the San Jose assembly plant. In conversation with some other owners, they have some "Rockford" headed bolts on these bands. Way back then, many parts stored had a rack of "Dorman" bolts in drawers.
Sorry, my car #0036, I mistakenly bought bolts at Ace hardware. These are very like Chinese and they gotta go!
My newest AMK catalog, (2014) does not show either of the Rockford or the Dorman headed bolts. Would S/A have called a local auto parts store for a supply. As in "we need these today"?
Likewise, the four bolts that hold the grill to the support bar. What would the head markings be?
