Use a socket to tap boot on to tie rod,  I think I am one of those bonafide mechanics or as they are called today techs

And remember kids, cardboard is your garages floors bestes friend

Took these McNasties OUT and put in original type sway bar links and strut rod  bushings

What fun this is !

Well replaced a old fan belt on our 1966.

Got one on sale from $33 to $14.68

I have been told its not correct. But it has a Ford script and numbers on, looks pretty kool. Think the correct number is C5OE-8620-K. This belt has C4TE-8620-S

I guess you can get some paint thinner and take the numbers off if they bother you a lot. To me they are fine, turns that blade around to cool the car.

Belt is made by the original manufacturer that these cars brought "Goodyear"

Pretty easy two nuts to loosen on the alternator.

Going to start making videos soon

Thanks for the compliment, much appreciated.  I'm still writing up the procedure on how to flush the block.  There will be plenty of pictures to illustrate the process.  And instructions on how to duplicate the tooling I had to build to do the job properly.  Nothing exotic, just simple hand tools.

How to flush the block?  Information I need to know.

There are small pipe plugs in the side of the block. They have square drive heads on them. One on each side of the block. I think they are 1/4npt threads but as of this writing, I forget exactly.

Those are the drain ports. Those can be replaced with "petcocks" like used on the radiator to make it easier in the future to drain the system.

The petcocks are more susceptible to road damage so caution should prevail with casual users.


If you flush the entire system according to the manufacturers (of the flush) instructions you really don't need to remove the block drain plugs or install petcocks.

The value of the petcocks is for removing the cylinder heads without flooding the piston cylinders. That doesn't happen for most often. You would likely need to be more of a racer where tearing down the engine often is more common.

So, in short, most should leave the factory block plugs alone.

We found a new old stock replacement carburetor.  Boy what a change in idling and acceleration.

The interesting thing is the carb it had on looked as if someone rebuilt it. Looked as good as this one.

My buddy is a ASE mechanic tore it apart could not find anything wrong.

I dont know diddly squat, but noticed that the gasket used did not match the little holes on the carbs metering bodies.

That was it.

You see I have always been the guy that walks around kinda lost and looks up and around....some will get it, most wont...

Naaaaa it's a Holley

Thing starts right up, no choke just two kicks to the accelerator. Then purs like a kitten with solid lifters....
