Please Explain this Shelby............. call Coralsnake......
Its a pre-production photograph
The car is a 1967 Shelby in disguise.
the plane is at bottom of atlantic ocean. phred
If you look around you will find another version of the same photograph
1967 #00463 A/C test car, later modified to the '68 Styling for advertisement use. Lots of photos of it (in Acapulco Blue).
I'm not sure if it was also the red car in some ads. I haven't dug into the history recently to help recall it.
EDIT; from the side stripe, I believe that was taken in April or May of 1967, by July it had the typical "GT500" side stripe / lettering.

What Emblem is that used in the Side Stripe. The Hubcaps look taller then the ones I see used. Taller as in, take it off and set it on the Ground.
Same height hubcaps but not recessed centers like production version. Early caps also has dark spokes and lighter background on spinner

That was not a production emblem. Brian Styles found some detailed drawings of the emblem (from SAI designer John Chun?) and used them to re-create a sample for his 67 Convertible that was also used for a '68 styling car. Here's a link to some of those detailed photos on his '67 Shelby Convertible website.
