I saw the long version and the version that uses the spacer, is there another?

Maybe a link?

Im not sure if there is more than one offering, however the ones pictured do not look like  1968 1/2 Cobra Jet manifolds, especially around the bolt holes and part numbers

For what its worth, I have not seen any reproduction Drake offerings that are "exact"

Sounds like a carburetor issue

I would suggest:

Make sure the door catch is fully engaged by pushing the door shut, if its not fully closed

..unscrewing the plastic lock knob on top of the  door. Trying grabbing the rod with a vise grips and see if you can pull it up.

If that doesnt work, you will have to try to remove the door panel from the inside

There are not many other options everything is internal. It either was  not assembled correctly or something is broken

What dealership?

The FoMoCo might have appeared on some early 1968s, but AUTOLITE is more common

Ah no.      ....as Mr Gaines said they are what is available, not entirely correct.

"The hose will work but is slightly different shape from the assemblyline hose. "

The two NPD hoses you linked to are both supplied by Kevin Marti so they are the same. The only difference is the markings.

I personally would avoid Drake parts.
