1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 67 GT500 heater box replacement
November 27, 2018, 07:50:43 AM
I think I did a post on this awhile ago, but here I am again. I started off thinking all I needed to do was replace the heater core which was leaking. Little did I know when I started how much disassembly was required to get to it. Once in, the box was rusted and full of mouse nest stink so I decided to replace the whole thing including the duct hoses. For the life of me I cannot get the heater box up high enough to have the blower motor fit thru the firewall opening. the Ford manual has it going back in one piece. I am tempted to take the clips off so the box is in two pieces, fit it up and just get what clips I can reach to refit the other half back on and be done with it. Maybe reach some tape onto where I cannot refit the clips.  I have removed pretty much anything that was in the way including the glove box, side kick panel, under dash instrument pod, radio and radio bezel, and the front seats. I mention this because I have allowed as much room as possible to get the job done. Any suggestions appreciated.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 67 GT500 heater box replacement
October 14, 2018, 05:14:53 PM
My heater core sprung a leak and it was a result of a mouse nest in the heater core. Everything was rusted terribly, so I decided to replace the entire assembly. The new parts match the old Parts very well. However, I am unable to push the new heater assembly up under the dash into place and get the blower motor to fit through the hole in the firewall. Is there some trick to get this to fall into place. I have been following the instructions in the repairs manual. It has the entire heater box assembled as you push it up under the dash. No way I can get it to go. Any suggestions?

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / radio upgrade
September 16, 2018, 10:36:00 AM
Has anyone done a radio conversion to modern specs and kept the stock appearance? I see several companies advertising a variety of ways to do this including some with a complete new face. If you have done this what did you use and are you satisfied with the result. Thanks

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / GT500 spark plug change
September 01, 2018, 08:51:44 AM
What have you used to remove and replace spark plugs on a 67 G500? How about reattaching the wires to the plugs? I cannot get my hands anywhere near #8 and for the most part none of them are easily reached so I know there has been a satisfactory wire to plug seal. Read many posts on another site where some say just keep trying your hands can get there. Forget it. Mine don't! Thanks for any help. Maybe this is one of those tasks you let someone else do?
