1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Tires
December 10, 2019, 07:00:55 PM
Tires on my car have plenty of tread, but are several years old and wondering if anything is still available in a Radial from Goodyear with Raised white letter tires.  Just like my car, I see plenty with the BF Goodrich Radial TA's, but would go to a Goodyear if something equivalent was available.
225 or 235 /60 / 15.

Advice appreciated.

Thanks

Looking for some technical wiring help for non working brake lights.

1967 GT350.
Brake lights just quit working.
Turn Signals work fine front and rear.
Tested the switch on the Brake Pedal and that is fine.

Illustration:
Push on the Brake Pedal with or without the headlights on and no Brake Lights.
Left and Right Turn Signals both work front and rear
Push on the Emergency Flasher switch and the front signal lights work and blink, but the brake lights do not.
Push on the Brake Pedal while the Flashers are on and the Front Signals go on solid and still nothing on the rear.

Can anyone shed some light on how to test what might be wrong?  I'm thinking it may be a failure of the turn signal switch, but don't know how to diagnose.  With the signals working, I know that it isn't anything to do with the wiring back to the bulbs, and with the brake switch affecting the emergency flashers, I know that that portion of the brake switch is working.

The turn signal switch is about 2 months old and purchased through a Mustang parts vendor.  Assuming it is a Scott Drake piece.

Would appreciate any advice.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Power Steering Belt Alignment
November 07, 2019, 11:41:37 AM
Hello,
Looking for a bit of assistance regarding GT350 Power Steering.
If you look at the picture attached of the lower crank pulley (which is a C7 number) there is a "gap" between the alternator and P/S grooves.
With that in mind, to align the belt from the P/S pulley to the crank pulley there is a secondary 1/4" spacer on the long bolt holding the top of the P/S pump.
I tried a C6 pulley where there was no "gap", but that pulley would not even fit down in the hi-po balancer.

The only thing that is missing from my setup is the small bracket on the back of the pump to that same long bolt, but that is very thin and wouldn't make up the difference.

I'm stumped as to why my setup needs this additional 1/4" spacer added for alignment.

I would also appreciate any pictures that others might have so that I could compare.  I searched through the forum, but didn't see anything.

As always, it is great to have a community of enthusiasts willing to help others.

Thanks in advance

Looking for guidance on 2 items please.
Early Car #23 if it makes a difference.
1) The color of the underhood upper shock mounts.  I have seen cars where they are the same black as the export brace and seen others where they are more of an unpainted cast color.
2) A relatively close color shade / number to the original grey inserts on magstars.

Appreciate the assistance.
