 I am having some R model headers made and they will be as accurate as we possibly can get them.  My hunch is they will be not discernible from original.  We are using an original set as a pattern and have one of the top custom header manufacturers in the country doing them.

Crush ribs at front suggest later 66 frame (not 65 or early 66)

Correct no neutral safety switch but BU light harness needs to be plugged in to complete circuit   You can bypas tilt away by unplugging 2 wire (both red w/ blue stripe) from vacuum solenoid and jumping the 2 wires on harness side

7M21. The same date housing that was in my brothers April 25th Mustang with 4.30s and my May 11th Torino GT with 3.91s.

never seen nodular casting between 7M and 8D. I've seen original 7M cases in June cars

Actually a 3.89 car could have SPEC case. Might be easier to find than a no N nodular

I have a February 1965 A-code Fastback and no longer need the heater box and core. Everything seems intact and unbroken, but it's filthy as sin. You are welcome to it if it will work. I noticed you specified a "Late" 65 heater box. Was there a change to the heater boxes in '65?

However, he knew a company that could make the fin part of the core to exact specifications and then he took the complete top tank and bottom and soldered them onto the new fin part. Looks exactly like the original but was much more expensive.

That's what I'm referring to. If you look at the above recored radiator the bucket header has different indentation that original. Some people don't care or notice

 Looking for good rebuildable core. No crack case or busted out brackets please
