Sounds great! Might be running a bit rich, lots of black smoke when you rev it up. Cam sounds like it is mild enough to generate plenty of vacuum for power brakes. I like it!

This looks like Keith's cam.

Every time I start the car, I am SHOCKED at the racket and amazed that the thing can run that way...but I'm not complaining...has something to do with renewing me?

The Going Thing

Doug: I am at about 12" at 900 rpm idle.  I just get by at that. Power Booster Exchange did my booster. They supposedly can work the valving to cope a bit better in low vacuum applications.  Thus far I am doing well with it. A local rebuilder in Dallas did the booster and it didn't function. Steve completed the booster and returned it to me five days.  They also had some of the plastic internals reproduced because of the condition of many of these boosters internally after 50+ years.

I don't worry about vacuum as I switched over to manual disc brakes years ago.  To be honest, I haven't looked at it since the engine was rebuilt.  Guess that's something I'll have to do in the near future.

Very similar cam profile.  The first cam is right on the edge to support a power booster, the second not a chance!
As for fuel mileage, I average about 7 MPG.  3.50 gears are not cruising gears.

My mileage is about the same with the same rear end gear.  However, my secret weapon is a TKO600 w/.64 overdrive.  Mileage isn't helped that much but it makes long distance traveling a bit more pleasant as the RPM drops to about 2000 at 70mph. The car is pretty load with those two chamber Flow Masters.  Guess if I were to do it over again I'd choose three chamber mufflers.

Yes and No.   Yes in that it was a stock c6 converter.  No in that it was completely rebuilt for 2500 stall.
