EDITH:

28 / 10 / 2020 together we find so much new content and read about several Events from 66 and 67,
so i decided to make new notes to the posted Pics.

Hello,

on my research i found an interessting point in Time for 1966

every year in GENEVA (Genf) in Switzerland is a big car Show from Europe
with several presentation and cars to show.

in 1966 the show was from 10 to 20 March and the Car dealer
Performance Cars Ltd. who was founded in 1965 from George Filipinetti (Scuderia Filipinetti)

in the Preliminary report on the show there was shown a big advertisment
from Performance Ltd. and GT350, GT40street and Cobra 427 was anouncend,
but with wrong Pics from 1965 GT350, Ford GT MKI and 427 Cobra

On the Show the Cars was shown on two diffirent places and i found some
pretty good Pics ...

the GT350 in black ?, anybody knows the Vin ?
EDITH 28 / 10 / 2020 pic was from the 66 Paris Auto Show (Mondial de l'automobile de Paris)

and the GT40street
EDITH 28 / 10 / 2020 pic was from the 66 Paris Auto Show (Mondial de l'automobile de Paris) Car was P/1051 Ford Press Car
in gold colour

on the 2nd place the GT40 Race from the Scuderia was shown

later raced on Le Mans 66 but have a damage on right fender

from the Cobra on the Show i didnt find any pics but i am searching on for this...
Edith 28 / 10 / 2020 - clearly to see at the coloured Pic from Richstang

another Pics shows the HQ from Performance Cars Ltd.

the GT40street was later tested from German Car Magazin "Auto,Motor und Sport" on the streets

Edith 28 / 10 / 2020 the test from P/1051 was on english roads, inside the black panel we can see "Performance Cars Ltd. with the finished P/1033 by Graber

So what you think ?
Interesting or just cold coffee ..

Considering it was likely a fairly new car why the tires were changed

Also noticed that the headlights have been changed and possibly head rests added to the bucket seats.
Possibly repainted or touched up at some point?

Thanks for sharing

Stephan, thanks for posting, great research !

I think also was another GT40 (P/1033) by Sbarro, with '66 GT350 (white ?) on display at the Geneva Salon '66 ?

The Filipinetti '66 GT350 & GT40 shown in your photos from Geneva, were also at the Paris Salon '66, but with slightly different

display back ground.

Stephan, Thanks for posting some of the European magazine and Auto Show photos. We don't see much of these here in the USA.

I believe the GT-40 on display with the 'SNO 250D' license plate, should be P/1051, a MKI road car.
The same two cars were also on display at the Paris Auto Salon in 1966. There was a slightly different background at that other show.
I might have a photo...will have to look for it.

The (poor quality) photo of the Filipinetti GT40 with the wire wheels should be P/1039... and...
The magazine cover with the Filipinetti at the LeMans trails in April should be P/1040 (with Halibrands and the rear wheel arch cut out larger).

Thank You for the added inside pages of that issue and the "Performance Cars LTD' dealer photo.
It looks like there is a second photo of the dealer with the rear 3/4 side view of the GT40 road car P/1051.

Mike,
I'll look for those other auto show photos as well. I don't recall a white '66 GT350, maybe it was red (?) or another photo at yet another show.
I'd like to see P/1033 and find out the date of the show you're thinking of.
Maybe between all of us, we can sort out some of these other photos and cars (or at the least share the photos).

Thanks for posting this photo noted as 1967. (This was not the photo I was thinking of.) I found the event was dated as March 9-19.
That is only the second Ford GT40 I've seen with the hood vent covers/louvers. (P/1034 was the other car with them.)

Here another GT noted at that 1967 Geneve Auto Salon (MKII P/1032). This photo below is credited to Marcus Chambers

This was the other photo that I was thinking of with the red GT350. We see it is in the Ford display area.
Perhaps the other photos with the silver(/) P/1051 was the 'Performance Cars LTD" display area???
I assume this is still in 1966 and maybe the GT40 is P/1039.

Absolut stunning Pic from Geneva 66

when you read the Performance Cars Ltd. Advertisment it is clearly written
that Cortina Lotus, new GT350, Cobra 427, Daytona Coupe and GT40 (Le Mans) is shown
on display

but the Black/White Pics only shows GT350 and GT40 Street (and Cobra is written on the Sign on the wall)

so i am little bit confused and stressed

i know from the research there was two aeras where cars shown, but i stands nothing
special information on the floor plan of the Salon...

for the GT40 i read in the SAAC Registry from 87 (only Registry i found in Germany)
that P/1039 and P/1040 both belongs to Scuderia Filipinetti and painted red
(and drived with Nr. 12 on LeMans)

I've only been able to ID the GT40. In 1966 none of the Daytona Coupe's were racing in Europe (csx2300 was over in Japan).

Both P/1039 and P/1040 were at the LeMans Trials in April and were painted nearly identical.
Only P/1040 qualified for the June 24 hour race, while P/1039 is noted as DNA (not accepted)
P/1040 crashed on the course, sitting on the raceway sideways with the left rear wheel torn off.

Here's a photo from the April Trials proving both cars were making practice runs. I'm not sure if both tried to qualify or not.
Both are wearing the race number '12', while P/1039 always appears with the wire wheels (that I know of).

i come up with two more Pics

1st is the floor plan of the 66 Geneva Auto Show

the main Pic from Richstang (66 in Red, white Cobra, Daytona and red GT40) ist located clearly and proofed,
because of the other Brands standing around the Ford Aera

there was 2 Ford aeras, the main Aera (which was on the Cover of the first Pic i posted) was for the
European and German Ford Cars, the second was the "Performance Cars Ltd. Aera" which was
official called FORD

meanwhile i have big trouble that the Black & White Pics from 66 GT350 and GT40 P/1051 was really
from Geneva Auto Show ..... i found not the tinyest proof in other Pics or videos

For 67 i found a good Front Pic from the Golden GT40 (surley a After Race Pic) with Graham Hill
and the Floor Plan where the Cars was on the Show

Behind the gold GT40

Both Mach 2 show cars?

One white, one red

Sorry Pete, those are not the Ford Mach II concept cars. They could be a Ferrari and a Porsche, but I don't know that for sure.
