I am completely out of stickers at this time. I write this post to gauge interest from the community to determine how many might be needed. I notice that Max appears to be out as well.
Anyone interested please let me know as to how many they require for current and future use.
Thank you.

Now he tells me.
I wasn't aware there were any left and had to pay too much on a certain bidding site.
This after getting sticker shock on shipping inner fiberglass quarters to Larry.
And so it goes ...
I am in for a couple
I want a set for my 67.

Whoops, sorry I was the trying to win that auction too!
I would be interested in at least 3, possibly 6 total. I'd love to have spares for when they get hot and peel off! Please let us know!
Mucho Thanks!!
I'd be in for 3.

You hit on the reason why they are not on a lot of hood and deck lids that many think should otherwise have them . They fell off back in the day also. Sometimes you will see a witness line where the sticker was and sometimes not because they fell off prior to painting when the cars were converted at SA. Consequently if a sticker or not does not mean a deduction in concours because they are seen as correct ether way. Now if you don't want them to come off and seeing how they are hard to come by if they do and get lost or damage then apply some contact cement to the adhesive side before applying. FYI this is also a prudent procedure on the seatbelt stickers for the viser to. ;)
I'd be in for at least 2
... and thanks for the advice Bob!

Having a reproduction part complete run already sold virtually never happens. You have to roll the dice and hope you make $. Ive got some parts that took me ten years to break even. I know Scott Fuller told me hes got some parts hes made that he will never break even. I think I have a few like that myself
I will take 3 also, just for future use.

I know Jim. Have done a few spec comm pieces and still have some very expensive 40 gig fiber items that may never see the light of day.
A few more and I'll roll the dice!

I thought I would mention that the Plaza Fiberglass stickers do not come on the early steel inner structure hoods or trunk lids . That circumstance of having a inappropriate sticker (no stickers on the early ones) is a deduction in concours judging .

Thanks for the caution. I'm all 'glass'. There are going to be folks here that just want a copy of the sticker for their collection. I'm sure that the 'caution fan' decal is just prominent in your mind here and hoping that there isn't another infection of 'gone viral' with 'Plaza glass" decals?

I have had the sad occasion to give deductions in concours and seen at shows others who have had the bad advice or copied others not knowing any better to use the stickers on the steel inner structure hoods and trunk lids . They are a nice detail in right context. It is meant in a helpful way.

Might try a high quality dual sided thin tape. Just an option
I tried the 3M thin transparent tape. It doesn't work either. I did use it to attatch the door sill plates.

I use the contact cement (usually yellow) comes in a bottle with a application brush. I have used various brands over the years with the same good results (stickers do not come off). You don't have to over think this because it is a simple but effective solution.
From pix I have it would appear that they were on before paint, would a little overspray be expected?

No I don't believe they were always attached/located where overspray attached itself to the hood or trunk so it depended on where one worker placed the sticker and where the painter got overspray. Long way of saying, not always. But would not expect to see on placed over exterior body color

Yes they were on before paint. Overspray would depend on where the sticker was placed by the fiberglass MFG.prior to painting at SA. They weren't always put in the exact same place . More times then not on the hoods and the trunklids the stickers were placed close enough to the edge that they would receive body color overspray of varying degree.
I ve seen hoods and trunk lids in black on the underside. Did they arrive black or did Shelby paint them that color ?

I believe they arrived with painted black undersides as well as no paint bare fiberglass undersides from evidence and observations . Maybe they were intended to all be painted but because of time logistics (SA pressure for product) they had to be shipped before the bottom side was painted. Just a theory.

I'd love to know if there is black paint under those stickers or if they were taped off? ;)
I "rescued " a original cracked hood from a 67 a few years ago. Walked my dog past the house where it literally rusted into the ground almost every day. Owner would not even entertain an offer. One day I'm driving by in my Mini Cooper and the hood is on the curb, next to the garbage can and the garbage truck is a block away. Grabbed it and walked it back to my house. Car disappeared a few days later. No paint on the underside.

No paint under the sticker or the entire hood as well?

The fiberglass hoods and trunk lids would have arrived to Shelby American with the black primer already applied with the PlazaGlas decals already applied as well, which means black primer is under the decals. SA would not have taken the time to remove or tape the decals before painting the body color on the fiberglass components. This is why it is typical to see an original car with body color overspray on the decals.

On the all fiberglass hoods and deck lids, it is typical to see black paint/primer with the drift of body color overspray on the underside including body color overspray on the PlazaGlas decals. They were by no means painted for show purposes and were not made to look perfect. SA painting techniques were by no means state of the art. Their technique was to Spray a quick color on and send it out the door.

The reason that I asked was that the flat black paint to me appears to be much more then over spray.
I thought I had read here previously that the fiberglass hoods and decks were never finished at all underneath and just exhibited unfinished fiberglass which generally appeared green?
I thought that I had remembered some current 67 owners asking about hoods being painted flat black since theirs was and thought it to be original, so I thought that I would ask?
I can say that on my car, on what I believe to be the original hood, the underside was as previously described as unfinished green fiberglass and that when I stripped the hood down for repaint, I can testify 100% accurately that there is no way the primer could be described as black. It was no question dark grey.
I didn't see on mine, on either the trunk lid or deck lid, any evidence of the stickers.
The black in that picture just seemed so much more then just over spray to me but of course it's not a picture of the entire underside of the hood.
Just an explanation for my previous post.

Saw this too on a original louvered hood
One thing to keep in mind is that the fiberglass was likely primed with batch paint so the gray-black scale may vary. The over spray of the body color may give the primer a different tone in appearance. From what I have seen, I would lean more toward a dark charcoal gray color (almost black) primer.
I would guess there were hoods and deck lids that made it out of PlazaGlas without any primer or decals at times. Anything is possible.
I'm sure others have input on the actual primer color used.

To my show appreciation to those who have technically "preordered", anyone who has placed a request by this Friday, 11 59 PM will get them for $22.00 each. 6 or more at $20.00 each.
After that they will be $25.00 each until I have less than 200. That should take awhile.
I will post up payment info later in the week. Please be patient, I am in the middle of moving down to S.C., just waiting on my CO, they don't call it the S "Low Country" for nothing!

The thread focused on the finish of the back side or hoods and trunks and took a side trip to include the stickers so that particular picture was posted to illustrate the original focus of the thread while others the other focus
