They say imitation is flattery. Seems like these are not for this group however.

SAAC has always done such a good job of calling out whats correct vs incorrect and what is REAL and what is merely a recreation or 'rebody.'  If we stick to our burned in/etched in stone methods we will continue to prevail above others as being the definitive,.....the ONLY resource for these cars for generations to come.

Up For Auction / Re: 1968 Shelby project car

Might be relevant to mention that in all likelihood the VIN or derivative stamp would have ben very likely on the head not block. Which is to say that unless we or the buyer get more information its hard to say for certain anything about matching numbers etc , blah blah

I don't know the car or seller and no dog in this debate but just presenting a "side" point of view .

Why can't pp/owners just leave a car like this alone and enjoy it is as a nice driver-and then put it up for sale in the same condition-would probably bring close to 100k.  Way too easy-quick grab the wrench and start tearing her down...

I'll admit I was wrong about the car having an automatic.

My question basically is: Did Shelby (not the dealership) make a drag package GT 350 in 66?

Like Jeff said,....yes

Parts For Sale / Re: Y2 radiator 4-65

That is a terrific looking rad.  We should let the population know that it would not be correct as an assemblyline piece for a 65 or 66-350.
And of course I realize nobody stated that it was.

Fabulous story, and yes this is a great place. SAAC keeps the torch lit and the information flowing.
