Do we have an ETA for the release of the SAAC '67 Shelby Registry? I'm hoping before Christmas.
You'll know its close when the pre-introduction price gets sent to you via E-mail. (based on past experience)
Waiting patiently on that email as well.......
Maybe it will be our christmas present ;D

That would be a very nice and very welcome Christmas present. :D
I think I missed it, but was there a link to pre order the '67 Registry? If only one good thing comes out of 2020, it will be the '67 Registry. ;D

There is not yet a link or any information about pre-order. I was just hoping that somebody in the know might chime in about an expected release date.
Any new news ? Even Santa is getting antsy !
Thanks
Is the new updated 1967 Registry going to be dated as a 2021 ?

New Years present? 2020? Nevermind why should 2020 have anything good attached to it as this point? How about a MLK present? (is there such a thing as humor?) As if any of this will go away in 2021?

Any recent news on the registry??? Thanks!
Hey,
I have a different question. Is the '67 registry going to be a stand alone publication or will it be shared with '65 and '66 cars like in the past?
Stand alone.
To paraphrase Sting:"I want my Re.....Gist.......Ry...." ;D

Separate current issues of the '65 Registry and the '66 Registry currently available, so 67 Registry will be its own.
The 67 Registry will be a stand alone book. The book has been in formatting for a while now with delays due to Covid. A SAAC update will be out later this Spring.
Dave
Anyone have a link so I can buy this registry?
Ive had the car 15+yrs and never bought one.

ON THE COVER
Back in November, 2019, SAAC member Woody Woodruff lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. In November 2021, Tom Cotter and Jim Maxwell celebrated his memory with the 2021 Woody Remembrance Tour. It took place in western North Carolina and was based at the scenic Snowbird Mountain Lodge. Woody will be remembered as the one who left the fig newtons in Cotter's Cobra during a tour to Alaska. A hungry grizzly bear sliced through the Cobra's soft top to get at them while everyone was sleeping. The Cobra is CSX2321, owned by Jim Sfetko of Parkville, Missouri. He is the car's sixth owner. The car has the distinction of being the only Cobra to appear on the cover of two issues of The Shelby American (Summer 2014).
- Here are a few previews of the new issue -
Frank Lance. 8 pages.
The movie "Ford vs. Ferrari" has caused a lot of interest in Shelby American's and Ford's role in endurance racing. Frank Lance was a member of Shelby's team and was, in fact, the crew chief on Ken Miles' GT40. He has some stories to tell and we were eager to listen. Prior to signing on with Shelby he was a race mechanic for Texans Jim Hall and John Mecom. He worked on the King Cobras and when they arrived, the GT40s. He was only at Shelby's for a year, but what a year it was.
HAMMERING AROUND HERSHEY. 9 pages.
Wagonmaster Lee Cross wrangled thirty early GT350s (including one '68) for five days of touring around eastern Pennsylvania. We signed on to get a taste and we liked it! Driving for a half-a-day at a time, interesting stops (some car-related and some not), lots of socializing and a first-class sit-down dinner each night. If that sounds like an enjoyable five days you might want to inquire a little farther. Good roads, good cars, good people, good food. All bases covered.
STORY WITH A HAPPY ENDING. 3 pages.
We love stories with happy endings. When a car finally finds an appreciative owner after a long time of promising to see the restoration through but continually being interrupted by...well, life, it's a positive outcome for everyone involved. When you have to let go of a car, it's a pleasant feeling to see it go to a deserving now owner. Paul Parslow lost his Tiger to a California wildfire, so 6S1081 was a perfect replacement.

This is great news ,thanks to everyone involved & checking my mail box daily
USPS? Oh no! That means depending where it is mailed from, it will go to Washington then to Atlanta then to Nashville then to Auston then to Binghamton (just as a drive by to where I lived) then to Cary then to Atlanta again off the Tahoe back to Nashville then on to Knoxville then maybe the truck, then delivered to the wrong house, back to Knoxville Post Office, then it will be all rolled up and smash fit into our mailbox. That means Tennessee will not see it for another month? Right Bob? I can show the craziest tracking from the USPS ever.....

Maybe you can get it FedEx and it will show up shredded. Ditto for UPS...Try using their insurance claims dept. My friend almost a year later is fighting a 3K claims on a FedEx destroyed NOS dash gauge assy with FedEx.

Oh I know, they all are bad, but the USPS has by far been the worst....We have had stuff that has never arrived in our mail....THe other day, we got a vacuum cleaner dropped off at our house, it was only 2 miles off where it should have gone. LOL...Then the local USPS told us that our house did not exist....Try having credit card canceled because correspondence from Visa and Mastercard NEVER getting to us, try banks calling us and saying we have to put a hold on your accounts because WE gave them a false address because the USPS does not recognize your address, and the USPS telling us that our house is NOT THERE! LOL

i once shipped parts to Canada. Fed Ex came after me for the guy's GST taxes. WTF? USPS would never do that. I shipped a lot of parts fed ex UPS and USPS. USPS has been the best so far. I once shipped a pair of 67 KH calipers. Fit in their flat rate box. Saved the guy a LOT on shipping if you know how heavy those things are. To each their own.

A few years back, I sent the '67 registrar, over 1000 photos (front views) in hopes of helping the registry effort.
He may have had some already but, a few were from very obscure places.
Hopefully they were properly identified.

Yes
The new ones are fantastic ,although the comprehensive, Encyclopedic 65-70 beasts (from the past) are wonderful nostalgic pieces I will miss and continue to reference.
Because this thread is 67 specific I'll once again express my thanks to Dave & Nancy Mathews for the gargantuan effort.
