I wasn't real happy with my hose set that I ordered from Marti the ink seems to be smudged and a hose is kind of got a ribbed finish, and the pictures I've seen of other peoples cars the hose is smooth and the print is clear & not smudged because of the ribs, I ordered these ones directly from Marti  and then I ordered another set from another source and they were both exactly the same.
The texture on your hose looks fantastic to me but then I search far and wide for original assemblyline texture like that at swap meets etc. You can make up a stamp with enough patience and accurate artwork but it is the texture hose that is hard to find. The smooth look is typically the tell tale sign of a later repro or replacement hose. The texture was considered a "undesirable effect" back in the day and steps were taken to make them more smooth. The ink stamps on mass produced hoses ,coils, early starters etc. were often smudged more times then they were not.
ok thanks guys i thought the smooth ones were the correct ones

So my car came with out the elusive fan shroud & i assume i'll never find one, in the mean time i'm looking for the best replacement repop ,i found this one on Ebay looks to have some kinda textured fiberglass finish & part # on it,or are there any better repop recommendations & i did confirm i have an original 23" radiator with the Fomoco stamp .Unless someone has one tucked away lmk i'd pay good $ for it & would promise not to put a caution fan sticker on it  :)

Too late hear I guess I'm a victim ,but mine have actual  rust on the back so they must be real & old  right lol ,as you can see i'm a sucker for eBay Ford trinkets & still like the pins.

I'm no expert but had pretty good luck with this company ,i bought the Nightmist blue  which is the same as the 66 mustang color ,in the touch up bottle with the brush & the spray can ,only had a couple minor chips ,but i get the brushes from the hobby model shop they have tiny brushes for small chips that work better.

Yes Pete this is like Bob is describing it will knock you in the chin as soon as you turn the key ,i remember i bought the Gt/Cs paperback registry before looking for one, & i one i found was missing the marchal or lucus lights  so was a little worried it was a real Gt/CS ,but when i checked the trunk lid for the spring it popped right open so i bought it.I just seem to remember them saying it was unique to the gt/cs so not sure about it being on a convertible .

One thing i don't see in that link on identifying a Gt/CS which i remember being detailed in the original Paul Newitt registry that i had (the paperback one) ,is the unique trunk lid spring that springs the trunk lid open with out having to lift it ,& that it was not available on any other  mustang  including 68 Shelby's .It's been a while but can someone confirm that piece of info that i seem to have retained form my brief Gt/Cs ownership.

Yeah just seems odd for that level of a restoration to forget something that prominent to a KR , I was wondering maybe because it was such an early car it didn't come with one, was this something Ford or Shelby added after they found there was a problem and needed one on later cars ? .I always found it such a strange piece and the placement of it right in front of snorkel, it's the one thing you get tons of questions of when you go to a show people wanna know what is that.
