Hello, I am posting this for comment from the forum. Any background on this? Is it 1960's vintage? Any cool history behind it? Or is it just a tin sign someone made up to sell at a Barret-Jackson booth? Here is the description:
I have a nice two sided porcelain sign shelby GT-350, I do not know much about it, bought it with a bunch of other Mustang Nos stuff. It is used got scratched and dings in it but the edge has nicks in from being rolled or dropped. A really neat piece of history. This is a heavy metal sign weighs almost 15 pounds. It is not painted and it is 30 inches round. Taking bids on it
My guess it's just like the other fake vintage ones they sell all over E-bay, they just buy new ones take a grinder to them ,leave them outside to rust a bit ,note they always say there not sure how old they are .Ask me how i know lol i have one in my garage it's cool but definitely not vintage Shelby sign imho

Amateur paint and lettering skills. Pete Brock would be pizzed if anyone thought he made that design.
Another red flag: I don't think there ever was a Shelby GT350 sign with "Mustang" also on it.
The key is in their description
I do not know much about it, bought it with a bunch of other Mustang Nos stuff.
I don't know translates to you're the expert tell me.
it was in with NOS stuff means it must be real since it came with a bunch of pookies NOS parts.
BIW was anyone still making porcelain signs in the 60s? By then plastic was taking over.

The guy created the sign after he read the 65-6 VIN tag. The car was originally Mustang GT350 - not Shelby GT350.
Porcelain signs were replaced buy painted metal signs long before shelbys were ever built so not even period correctly made. The repo shelby neon signs are also not period correct as neon was replaced by backlite plastic type in early 60s. If there were any REAL shelby signs made back in mid 60s they would be very expensive now.

Just amazing that we live in this wonderful age of technology. Here we have two sellers, one has two yes two vintage signs and one has one vintage sign at a very economical price.
Wonders never cease
And the next ad will read: "Personally hung on the wall of his office by Carroll himself! The day before he left for LeMans in 1966."
Pookie wall medallions perhaps? 8)
