Another Junkyard Shelby

So yesterday I was browsing the website of local Pick-Your-Part wrecking yards, and I noticed this little beauty. It was put out into the yard yesterday and was already pretty much stripped of anything interesting.

My curiosity was peaked as to whether it was "real" so I decided to go check it out today. It was worse in person. If the pictures show how it looked after being ravaged by a pack of hyenas, today it looked like the leftover carcass after being scavenged by a hundred hungry buzzards. Outside of the export brace, brake booster, master cylinder, some wiring and various bolts, there is NOTHING useful left on it.

The good news (depending on how you look at it) is that it appears to be  a "real" Shelby. I took the Shelby VIN plate (sticker) from the driver side fender apron. I also got the ford VIN from the door sticker.

Colorful characterization of its fate. Poor car.  Thanks for the images.

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

In another 50 years you'll be able to sell it to someone trying to build a clone.

It'll just be added to my collection of VIN plates from all the HiPo cars I've seen in junkyards over the years. "R" code, "G" code Galaxies; 428, 429 CJ Mustangs, Torinos and Cougars; a "W" code Cougar; a few "K" code Mustangs and some others.
