SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Re: Dave Dralle info wanted

Thanks guys. I understand he was a unique guy and had a great knowledge of the mods needed to make the GT350's fly. I am looking to put a poster board together and include some info on Dave.

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Dave Dralle info wanted

I am the owner of a red '66 GT350 that was taken from street car to Group 6 race car by Dave Dralle back in the early '90's.

I am looking for any info on Dave or his shop located near Willow Springs. Pictures, ads, anything that I can compliment the car with.

I am currently running the car in club/track events. Last race the car was in was at the Monterey Reunion in 2019. Number 9 is on the car.

Thanks in advance.

Drew,

I recently purchased a 1966 Gt350 that was produced on 6-21-1966 and is missing the original carb. What would be the correct dated carb for that date build?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks to all of the SAAC Directors for doing all you have done since the early '70's. Lots of people know where to complain but seldom know where praise is warranted. So again, "Thank you!"

John,

First of all, be extremely patient when looking for the right car. It took me years to finally find a 1966 GT350 that I liked. It was set up as a race car but retained all of it's original metal and parts. I can easily put it back to a street car if I want to. Even came with the original motor crated, steering wheel, and everything put the drivers seat. No rust or damage ever.

I found that I wanted a numbers matching car with an original motor. That's just me, but I thought that combination would hold it's value verses an engine swap or wrecked car.

I question this car because of the 302 engine. That's probably why the price is so low compared to other 1966 GT350's out there for sale. My car was quite a bit less than this one. They are out there!

Take your time and buy the right one for you. Good luck!

I was headed to Miller Motorsports Park for a day of driving after buying my 2013 BOSS 302LS. In the plane seated next to me was an older woman who was asleep except for the last 15 minutes of the flight. We talked a bit and she asked me where I was headed. I told her and her comment was " I used to work with Carroll and the gang back in the '60's. The partying and carrying on can't be talked about today. We would all be in trouble." I thought "Why the hell couldn't we have talked since boarding and not just 15 minutes. I would have recorded everything she told me." It all happened so fast that I neglected to get her name. Not that she would have given it to me anyway. She should be a resource for the movie!

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Re: Verify Authenticity

Wow! Sounds like you unfortunately, inherited a great find. I would be interested in this if and when you decide to sell. I am looking to restore and keep an early GT350 as a father son project. Please keep me in mind when you're ready. I have no problem in you getting an appraisal and determining an asking price from that.
