is it just me? When did these become 150K cars? Guess I should have bought then one I looked at years ago for 45K
They aren't.....unless a spectacular car.
RM just sold a Balmoral Gray car, a very pleasing and uber rare color for just under 125

The car presented very well in person
In the example (appears to be a very nice example and perhaps worthy of the bid) presented, note that when installing an oil filter in such fashion, if not also incorporating an anti-drain-back feature, which is not generally recommended as most devises are found to be very flow restrictive, leads to an extended startup oil starvation period as the pump charges the filter assembly, manifolding and remote feed and return lines. And, if the oil is retained within the filter, get ready for the oil spill at filter change. :o
But, I do applaud the consideration for improved oil flow potential otherwise.
Scott.

I have seen nice Drivers still for around $35K.
Passed on one for $2500 in 1972. Ended up buying a 57 T Bird with a big block in it 8)

Probably just like any special interest car... the more rare and real quality cars are kinda pricey.
I've been thinking that prices look soft compared to the last few years? That red Mk2 (#003) listed here now for "only" $145k, and a few other good-looking of the more common Mk1/1a cars foundering in the $50k range?
In 2014 (IIRC), two (2) top-shelf restored Mk 2s were sold at auction for around $220k.
Grumpy - the guy who introduced me to Tigers (in 1977) claimed that he bought and sold them in the $1500 range back then :o, of course they were well-used and probably rusty NJ examples.
