PM Feature and location of notifications

[SFM6S]

I was out of town when the site was upgraded. I do like everything that has been done. Was the PM feature eliminated on the home page? I can't find access to it but if I click on a members name who I have communicated with previously, it populates. I am kind of missing the feature that showed if I had a message or not.
