Period correct OEM Ford keys typically have an 'H' stamped on them.

Seen the same on SJ cars and also other assembly plant cars.  Probably a rotation number or something to ID that a particular type of windshield went in a car optioned for that specific type.

Considering a/c, p/s and p/b were not available on K codes, I'd say it was pretty well optioned being a GT and deluxe interior.

Quote from: deathsled on May 05, 2024, 10:56:41 PMSo as I thought more about your observations Mr. Turner, does the mark being more to the left when the alignment was done therefore translate to my steering wheel being unable to turn full left to its maximum lock and being able to turn too far over to the right?  That sounds a bit perilous.

That's correct.  It's probably not too noticeable being about a 1/4 of a turn off, but should be fixed.

When the front end is properly aligned, the steering box shaft index mark should point to the 12 o'clock position.  This centers the worm gear/sector shaft the same turns lock to lock.  There is a mark on the steering wheel where the marks should line up.  I'd put the steering wheel on the proper alignment to the shaft and take it back to whoever did the alignment and have them re-do it.

Looks like the regular 289 alternator belt.  Hipo ones are different.

Aftermarket torque converter?  Might need a higher idle setting.

Talking about the pull knob bracket?  If so, it gets mounted using the same hardware as the parking brake assembly.

SFM number unknown of this one, likely a '65.  Hard to say if oil pan drain is painted or just dark natural/phosphate.

I have an '02 car insured on my collector car policy, it's an agreed value.

Those tires look a bit old, I'd be hesitant to wind the car up in the driving video also.

Was a great tour, even if there were only a couple Fords in the entire building!   :)

Could very well be a weak area, but under normal driving conditions, shouldn't be a problem.  I've never noticed the area bent or cracked on original cars and ones I've disassembled.  If I remember right, 67-68 do have a reinforcement area there, spot welded in.
