THE NEW SHELBY AMERICAN WORLD REGISTRY The 4th Edition of the Shelby American World Registry is in the works. It will be printed in 2 separate volumes. Volume 1 will contain information and photos of Cobras and GT40s. Volume 2 will contain information and pictures of Shelby Mustangs and Shelby Trans-Am cars. Both volumes will be put together and printed independently of each other, one at a time. Work on the second one will begin as soon as the first one is complete. Volume 1 is presently nearing completion. We have been working on this edition for the past 3˝ years. We expect to be sending it to the printer at the beginning of 2008. Volume 2 should be finished sometime in the 2009-2010 time frame. We are presently taking orders for Volume 1 (Cobras & GT40s). This volume will contain information and photos on all original leaf spring (CSX2000) and coil spring (CSX3000) Cobras. There will also be separate chapters on Cobra small block competition cars, Cobra Daytona Coupes, Continuation Daytona Coupes, Brock Superformance Coupes, 289 Dragonsnakes, Slamom Snakes, leaf spring COB/COX Cobras, King Cobras, 427 Competition and S/C Cobras, 427 Super Coupe, 427 Willment Coupe, Twin Paxton Cobras, 427 Dragonsnakes, Cobra Component cars (CSX4000, CSX7000 and CSX8000 series), AC MK Ivs, AC COX continuation cars, Kirkham Cobras, Paramount film chassis, Cobra Caravan, Cobra Trailers, Cobra Museums, GT40s, race car variants, Ford GT MK Iis, MK Ivs, Gulf cars, Safir MK Vs, Holman GT40P MK Iis, Kar Kraft MK Ivs, 2005-2006 Ford GTs, Lone Star, Shelby Can-Am racers. This book will be about 1000 pages. It will be hardcover and will have a color dust-jacket. A special, pre-publication price of $175 (plus $15 shipping inside of the U.S.) will be available to those who order a copy in advance of printing. When the book is sent to be printed we will recalculate the cost (it’s no secret – it will probably be higher) but we will honor the pre-publication price for everyone who paid $190 (including postage) up front. THE "OLD" SHELBY AMERICAN WORLD REGISTRY The 3rd Edition of the Shelby American World Registry, printed in 1997, was out of print for a while. But due to the demand for it, we had a small quantity reprinted and they are now available. Why the demand for a ten year-old registry? Because while the owner information may be dated, nothing else in this 1336-page book is. Information on the basic details about every car that Shelby had anything to do with as well as everything else – serial number decoding and locations, stripe dimensions, colors, options, running production changes, part numbers, etc. – is still accurate. We are presently working on the NEXT edition of the registry (click here to order). There is so much information that we had to split it into 2 separate volumes. And we can only work on one volume at a time. The first one to go to the printer will be the volume containing information on Cobras and GT40s. We expect this book to be more than 1000 pages and to be ready for the printer by the very end of the year. We are taking orders for it now. Once Vol. 1 goes off to the printer we start working on Volume 2 - Shelby Mustangs and Shelby Trans-Am cars. We estimate this book will take 1 1/2 - 2 years to complete. As a result, if someone is in need for basic information on Shelbys, it will be at least 2 years before it will be available in the new book. Two years is a long time to wait, so this explains the demand for the 1997 edition. The price is the same as it was ten years ago: $125,00. Postage rates have increased, so priority mail inside of the US is $15.00. Total is $140.00.
