THE "OLD" SHELBY AMERICAN WORLD REGISTRY

The 3rd Edition of the Shelby American World Registry, printed in 1997, was out of print for a while. But due to the demand for it, we had a small quantity reprinted and they are now available. Why the demand for a ten year-old registry? Because while the owner information may be dated, nothing else in this 1336-page book is. Information on the basic details about every car that Shelby had anything to do with as well as everything else – serial number decoding and locations, stripe dimensions, colors, options, running production changes, part numbers, etc. – is still accurate.

We are presently working on the NEXT edition of the registry (click here to order). There is so much information that we gad to split it into 2 separate volumes. And we can only work on one volume at a time. The first one to go to the printer will be the volume containing information on Cobras and GT40s. We expect this book to be more than 1000 pages and to be ready for the printer by the very end of the year. We are taking orders for it now.

Once Vol. 1 goes off to the printer we start working on Volume 2 - Shelby Mustangs and Shelby Trans-Am cars. We estimate this book will take 1 1/2 - 2 years to complete. As a result, if someone is in need for basic information on Shelbys, it will be at least 2 years before it will be available in the new book. Two years is a long time to wait, so this explains the demand for the 1997 edition.
