THE SNAKEBITE BULLETIN
A. Mailing. The Snakebite Bulletin is generally sent out every other month, via First Class mail (via Air Mail to all overseas SAAC members). These issues carry classified ads, a calendar of regional events, stolen car bulletins, convention information and anything else which needs to reach members quickly.
B. Classified Ads.
SNAKEBITE BULLETIN CLASSIFIED AD GROUND RULES
All Classified ads in the Snakebite Bulletin are free to SAAC members and there
is no limit to the number of words per ad. We do, however, request that you
limit your ads to one per category per issue (cars, parts, literature, wanted,
personal). We cannot be responsible for errors or omissions in transcribing your
ads. Any mistakes are certainly unintentional; let us know if we didn't get it
right and we will correct it in the next issue.
NON-MEMBER RATE IS $15 PER AD with no word limit. Non-members will automatically
receive that copy of the Snakebite Bulletin their ad appears in. We accept Visa,
Mastercard or checks (made out to "SAAC")
All ads MUST include your name and address. We require addresses in all ads as a
way of protecting SAAC members. By providing a mailing address, advertisers who
attempt to engage in questionable business practices expose themselves to mail
fraud charges and can be held accountable by the U.S. Postal Service. Phone
numbers are optional and all phone numbers are considered to be evening numbers
unless otherwise noted.
Ads for Shelbys and Cobras must contain the car's serial number. This is the
very first question the prospective buyer will ask and knowing it beforehand may
save him or her the cost of a phone call - as well as keeping them from wasting
your time. We want to identify as many cars by serial number as possible because
we keep track of these cars - and you'd be surprised at the number we don't have
current owner information on. Any Shelby or Cobra ads without serial numbers
will simply be tossed out. We don't have time to notify you that your ad was
rejected.
Ads may be edited for clarity and space requirements. All ads will be used in
the next possible issue. Any ads received after the current issue goes to press
will automatically be placed in the following issue.
No ads will be accepted over the telephone. This means messages left on the
answering machine. Don't even think about it.
The best way to place an ad is to write or type it as you would like it to read
and send it to SAAC HQ on a separate piece of paper. If you send us your ad as
part of another note, written on the back of a membership application, renewal
form, change of address card, merchandise order form, shop rag, speeding
citation, cocktail napkin or Hustler centerfold, it stands an excellent chance
of being overlooked. Of course, you'll blame us - but you can't say we didn't
warn you.
Ads can also be faxed to us (860-439-0022) or e-mailed
(65-66registrar@saac.com ).
All ads will run in one issue only. Please do not request to have your ad
repeated in the next two or three issues. If you would like the same ad repeated
in consecutive issues you will have to re-submit it each time. Please do not ask
us to "...just rerun my ad from the last issue" We don't have time to search for
it. You do. Besides, we like to hear from you.
Ads without addresses will be tossed out. If you send an ad with only your name
and phone number the only place it will run is in our trash can. We don't have
time to look up your address. And we don't have time to notify you that we've
tossed your ad. As soon as it goes into the can we forget about it. So if you've
sent us an ad and haven't seen it in the newsletter, that's probably what
happened to it.
